Material Resolution Issues (with Samples)

Hi!

I've been having an issue with my Substance Painter for a while where materials on my models have been rendering at a low resolution, even with the shader settings and document settings set to 4096px. I was importing FBX files from Rhino -  I read that this might be an issue with the UV alignment and some texel density issues. I tried these solutions but nothing worked. To do a "control" check, I used the MeetMat sample file and the same issue came up.

I'd appreciate any guidance!

Hello Andrew,

Thanks for the message.

This is maybe due to the Screenshots, but I'm not sure to see the issue. The "quality" of a texture is indeed also defined by its Texel Density. Make sure your UV islands take as much space as they can in their UV map, and don't hesitate to use UDIMs if you feel like you need a sharpen result.

In addition, make sure the materials you're using in the project are able to be displayed in 4K (all Substance materials are, but not necessarily third party materials).

Regards,
