Hi
I am getting pixelated images on my 3D models when trying to place decals on my work. It's for a product packaging, so it should be a simple fix.
I have adjusted the texture set settings, which have helped to some degree, however, the image quality is still to good. I have tried a variety of images, placing them as fill base colors, but I'm still getting the same outcome. I will attach a couple of photos to show the difference in quality between the PNG and the painter preview.
If I increase the size of the photo, the pixelation goes and the image is perfect, however when trying to reduce the size of it in the UV section, this resolution degreases significantly.
I've spent a few days trying to solve this, but still no closer, so any help will be great.
Thanks

Hello Olivier,
Low resolutions issues can be due to several things:
The Texture set Resolution is basically the size of your UV map (where all the UV islands are). It defines how many pixels you have for the entire UV map. As instance, if you switch a Texture Set resolution from 1024 to 2048, you now have 2048x2028 pixels for the entire texture, regardless of your resources' resolution. Switching to a higher resolution can help having a more detailed result.
The Resource Resolution is basically the same thing, but for your asset. If you bring a 128x128 decal image, switching the Texture set resolution will never "upscale" the image higher than 128x128. Therefore, I advise you to make sure to have a decent decal resolution before importing in Painter.
Texel density (to make it simple) is the UV islands' proportions. The larger a UV island is, the more pixels are defining it. If you think your model has not enough resolution, you can split it into several UV tiles.
Regards,
