Steam vs. Standard Substance Painter: Differences and Payment

Thanks for clarifying! I would like to know if the steam version of substance painter has any downsides compared to the normal one, and if it is just a 1 time payment of $200?

Thank you for the message.

 

The steam license is a one time payement for lifetime access, but updates of the year of purchasing only.

 

There's no downside in the application as properly said, however you won't have the "Send to" option (which allows you to quickly send resources from a Substance application to another) and you won't have access to the Substance 3D assets library.

 

If you're considering buying a steam license, I advise you to wait for the 2025 version, otherwis
