Hi Guys,

I am new to substance painter. I have painted the textures inside substance painter, then export all maps and integrated in to 3ds max and render using vray. In 3ds max the texture colour and appearence looks different from substance painter. how to solve this issue?

Regards,
Vasanth

Hello Vasanth,

What mostly changes the look of your textures is the lighting. You can check what HDRI (environment map) you used inside Substance 3D Painter and use a similar one with Max.

Thanks for your reply.

You are correct, I have used same HDRI in 3ds max, the problem is with the lights it's affects the texture's look. Is there any possibilities to import the lights from 3ds max or create lights inside the substance painter same as 3dsmax?

or any other correct way to acheive?

Regards,

Vasanth

If you're using custom lights (point, spot, etc.), they can't be imported to Substance 3D Painter. However, if you're using an HDRI map, you can also load it inside Substance Painter.

I advise you to check on Poly Haven if you're looking for HDRIs
