UNC Paths

Why do UNC paths not work in painter?

They work in literally every single other piece of software that I know of.

I have written applications and didn't have to do anything to handle UNC paths.

The explaination on the Adobe website smells very very strongly like a latrine on a hot day.

Is there a plan to solve this as it is extremely inconvenient.

I've been wondering the same thing for years. It's a really weird limitation, and it creates lots of workflow issues when everything else in our workflow in in Adobe CC, 3ds Max, Blender etc. is based on UNC paths exclusively. None of the other applications seem to have a problem with UNC paths.
