New Substance 3D Blender Add-on broken

Participant ,

Stoked to use the new add-on with Blender, but this pops up every time I load Blender with the add-on and integration tools enabled, or when I try to install the integration tool via .exe from explorer. Any idea what's going on here?

I've moved your thread to the 3D Plug Ins forum, where you may get more help with your issue.

You mention installing exe via explorer. Installation should work just by pointing to the Zip file in Blender. First to install the add on then from the add on to install the integration tool.

Have you tried uninstalling as per the instructions with the Beta download links to remove old versions and re-installing as above?

What version of Windows and Blender?

It's working correctly here in Windows 21H1 (19043) and Blender 2.93.1

Windows 20H2, 19042.1110

Blender 2.93, 3.0, 2.91, etc and Windows in general. Is it possibly related to having more than one version of Substance Painter installed? I don't know why that should be an issue though, as it seems to be Windows based in general?

Hey Dave,
Thanks for moving the bug report. But yes, i should have said i first tried
installing the correct way through the plug-in window. That failed. The
plug-in appeared but i could not load a material. Blender froze. Every
startup of blender gave me the same c++ error box. I tried deleting and
reinstalling, same. And i tried installing from windows with admin with
same results.

Hi

It's working here in Blender 3.0.1 on Windows 10. I had an older version working and just updated to the latest on the pre-release site without any issues.

A few questions:

Which exact version of Blender and the tool are you using?

How far do you get in the installation process ?

Did you have a previous version installed and, if so,  did you remove that first and then restart Blender?

Dave

@cof125 Could you try completely uninstalling the addon and integration tool? Just make sure there is no instance of the Substance remote engine is running in your task manager. Once it is completely uninstalled, please follow the step here: https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/68A24EE2-2EA8-416F-D95B-23B8E64E5DE8# to install the latest version of the plugin.

Please let us know whether or not this works.
