Hello,
I wish to create a rug texture but, I'm not sure if it is better to do it in designer or sampler. The pattern is fine, it's a picture, the missing part is the brushed wool effect. Any hint?

Hello,
Image to Material (AI Powered) is not yet available on Windows + AMD cards (only Nvidia). We're working on improving this point.
Thanks

Hello,
I've tried but unfortunatly, that's not it. But at least it allows me to xplain a bit bitter what I wish to achieve : the texture, the material, more than the pattern. A rug has a surface that is somehow similar to a fur and it is what I'm looking for. Something I could mix with the picture that represent the rug. Maybe something that looks half way between the fur texture and the velvet texture.

I think you need to mix materials with some filters and load your image as texture into Sampler for applying on that material. Some time I use this technique.

Hello,
That's not bad in order to get a rough texture but for something that looks like a very short fur, I've been unable to figure out a mix that allow to get a nice result. I start to think the only way is to do it with 3D particles or hair cards.

Hi,
Did you try taking a picture of that kind of rug, and put an "image to material (AI Powered)" on it?
It seem to me to be the best for the results you seek, or as you mentionned you'll need grooming if you want something really close as fur.

Unfortunatly, as for Iyay, it's an NVIDIA compatibme feature, I run an AMD card.

It's not the case any more!
Did you try to use it? If it's not send us a bug report with your logs in and we'll investigate:

Still the Image to material B2M is great to use too, and give satisfying results.

The IA option doesn't appears. But I don't think it's a bug, it's probably that my card starts to be kinda old (RX 580).

I see it meets the minimum, but it might be great to make sure 3D Sampler uses the right GPU:
https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/sadoc/nvidia-driver-settings-215287406.html
Otherwise B2M will work very weel too!

After a quick check, Sampler uses the GPU.
In case of a missunderstanding : B2M works, that just the result is not it.
IA option is not available, that's not enough of a big deal to start to do risky things like mixing NVIDIA and AMD. I will just wait IAs to be really compatible with AMD or my next computer... one day.
As for my little texture problem... in fact I mostly just need to see how to add/make some basic "short hair" effect. Be it with Designer or Sampler.

UPDATE : Support confirms AMD is currently not compatible with IA features.

What are you calling Support?
If it is documentation we will update the page.
But Image to Material AI Powered isn't Nvidia only anymore.
If your GPU is supported and have 2GB of VRAM available it should run.
Found the minimum requirements here:

And that's why I asked, it is a public thread so many people might seek informations here.
As Image to material AI run on Macos with AMD, so it was important to ask. to avoid misunderstanding.
Thank you!
