can the same adobe user use a premiere team project on separate computers at the same time without running into major issues? (separate operator on the 2 computers)

we have a Premiere team project that me and my coeditor are using. So that's 2 people already. I wanted to put a 3rd person on our Premiere team project. Let's refer to this person as Logger. I suggested that we add the logger's email address to the teams project, but my coworker opted for the following: Have the logger use Coworker's laptop that already has Coworkers license on it. And Coworker will use their own desktop computer with the exact same license. (And I had my own personal license that was separate from Coworker's license on my own computer).  So now Coworker and Logger are working at the same time, in the same project, same license, but DIFFERENT SEQUENCES and separate computers. And coworker started to run into the following issues:

  • first Premiere told Logger that I was editing their sequence (Which I wasnt) and that a copy of their sequence was saved (which it wasnt). And logger claims they lost a few minutes of work.
  • Then Premiere told me that Coworker was editing my sequence, which they weren't. And premiere told me it saved a copy of my sequence. But the "copy" wasnt the most up to date
  • Then Coworker said they were no longer able to hit "submit" or "update". (But I was able to since I was on my own license which led coworker to believe that the issues they were experiencing was a result of having the logger use the same license as coworker for teams project)
  • Then coworker couldn't Open the team project. It gave coworker a popup that had 2 buttons to choose from. I can't remember what the 2 options were, I think it said something along the lines of revert to older changes or go with the current version. But no matter which option my coworker chose, it would shoot them back to premiere screen where they could choose a project to open and the project would never open. Yes we tried a full restart, shutdown and cache purge.

We ended up having to start a new team project on my laptop. Went to media browser and dumped all the contents of the old project into the new one. And told the logger to go use a local project again.

I wanted the logger to be on our teams project as opposed to working from a local project for 2 reasons:

  1. If they hit update, I can instantly see their markers. Thus we avoid an extra step of having to acquire this person's local project and import their sequences into our team project
  2. When we opened their local project and tried to copy their local sequence into our team project, duplicate media came in: audio that was already in our team project is now showing us a 2nd copy which came from the imported sequence. This causes redundancies in files in an already huge project. (Yes we highlighted the normal audio and duplicate audio in the project and chose the consolidate duplicates button but it didnt do anything). My coeditor tried to assure me that they did this workflow all the time last year without issue where they'd copy in a sequence from the local premiere project into the team project. (but this isn't last year. Today's premiere bugs aren't the same bugs as last year). I run into this redundancy issue a lot on scores of different local premiere projects. For instance when I try to import an XML that I got from pluraleyes, most of the time it'll bring in cameras that are already in the project. But let me be specific, lets say pluraleyes tried to sync 3 cameras....the XML wont bring in duplicates of all 3 cameras. Just duplicates of some cameras and most audio. It seems arbitrary.

So I guess I'm looking for confirmation from the community on a few things. Can you guys confirm that Premiere Team Projects dont allow you to log on 2 separate computers/2 separate users/same license at once? Can you also confirm that you have the same issues with redundancies coming into your project when you import a sequence or XML from another project? (This will open the flood gates for comments about using media browser). And does anyone else have issues with the consolidate duplicates feature not working as expected?

Hi,
Working on 2 different machines under the same individual license is possible, but not a supported workflow nor is this covered under the license agreement - Can I install my Adobe app on another computer?
