This is the first time we have used team project internally and I have just encountered this error. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling After Effects, taking plugins out, restarting our Macs, Signing out of Adobe ID. Nothing works yet two people in the office can load the project up and I started the project in the first place. See below for screen shots.

After preparing team project for editing. The following error appears;

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

This is probably happening because some of the media cannot be located. We have identified a problem where this can happen due to a synchronization issue in the Team Projects software. This will be fixed in the next release of Team Projects. Unfortunately the current versions of Ae & Pr will not open the Team Project when this happens.

Here are the two simplest options to work around this problem:

  1. A collaborator that can still open the Team Project should save the Team Project as a Premiere project, then convert that saved Premiere Project back to a new Team Project. All collaborators should pick up their work on the new Team Project. (You can archive the Team Project that won’t open.)
  2. Or, you can create a new Team Project, and use the Media Browser to drag assets and sequences from the Team Project that you cannot open.

I hope this helps.

I`m having a similar issue but the funny thing is that I can open the same Team Project con my Laptop but not on my desktop. Same files (working with proxies). Could it be due to the drive where the media is found?

Is there any other explanation for this issue besides fixing it with the hope that the other collaborators can open the team project file as well?

It's May of 2018 and the this exact problem still exists for me.

Thanks!

Having this issue in the past, what has been working for our studio is:

  1. Deleting the contents of Premiere's Media Cache folder
  2. Deleting the contents of Premiere's Scratch folder
  3. Deleting the contents of your computer's Temp folder (Windows shortcut: Open Run, type %temp%, click OK)
  4. Restart Computer

Between extensive editing sessions, we do this regularly and feel that it helps the program run more smoothly.

If you can, dedicating a separate drive for your Media Files, and another separate drive for your Media Cache and Scratch folders, may reduce the likeliness of errors when loading. Plus, it'll help you locate these files easier, and improves your machine's throughput.

Hi,

Have you tried to rollback to one of the next older Auto-Save versions using the Media Browser - View auto-saves of team projects?
As an alternative are you able to create a new Project based on a older Version of your Team Project - View versions of team projects?

Best,

Udo

Hello, All

Thank you for all the info on this problem.  I'm having the same issue in 2023.  I have been working on an edit for weeks in a Teams project and I am unable to open the master edit and am getting the error: There was an error opening the Team Project "My File name" [Error code 1609629695 Do you want to open the previous autosaved version from August 23, 2023]

I keep trying to open the autosaved version which sends me back in time chronologically but to no avail.  It's critical that I'm able to recover this work as so much has gone into it.  And I'm at a loss for reopening even a previous auto-save.

Is there a solution to this 6 years after the original post?

Worried,

Brian

Hi Brain,
does the issue still persist? Could you invite me to the troublesome project [upawlik@adobe.com]?

Best,
Udo
