Hey All! I am working on a project that has been converted to a team project and shared with me. All the media is missing from the timeline. Any tips on how to save/share a project but keep the media built into the timeline?

Hi Julia,
Which version of Premiere are you using and can you clarify what you mean by 'the media is missing'?
Is the timeline empty or are there assets in the timeline but they are all offline?
Do you have access to the media on your computer?
Best,
Udo

Hi Julia -
To add a bit of higher level context for Team Projects. The Team Projects collaboration system shares your project data across collaborators. However, when it comes to media you need to ensure all editors have access to that. Each editor may place the media in a location (path) that is different from one user to the next. So one step that is usually required is for each editor to relink to the media on their system the first time they open a Team Project. The Team Project has the intelligence to track the media location uniquely per user once you set it up.
Thanks
Michael

Michael: I have all my media for a Team Project on a folder on my hard drive. My collaborator has the exact same files with the exact same names in a folder on their hard drive. Yet every time one of us publishes the project and then the other person updates, the media for the person who updates shows up as off line. This only happens with the soruce video, not with the graphics for the project. What am I doing wrong?

Correction: It happens with the graphics as well. Do I have to import the files every time I accept an update??

Hi Julie,
You may get into a state where media appears offline after each share when the media has a different modification timestamp. The workaround here is to not use the 'Link Media' dialog and creating a user specific file mapping via the 'Media Management' dialog instead - Media Management.
Best,
Udo

Hi Julia,
I have a similiar issue, the difference is the media is actually deleted from the time line. In previous saved versions the all of the media is there. We converted from Production to Teams and quickly discovered some sequences were missing footage from the time line. What am I missing here? This is my first time working with Premiere Teams Project.

Hey Kristal,
We still have difficulty with this, so far the best fix is to make sure all files are in a shared location but even still we have had to search and re-embed sources.
