Not Responding on Startup

New Here ,
Aug 20, 2020 Aug 20, 2020

I was having a problem with a particular sequence. The system would become unresponsive if I went to that sequence and did so much as touch the scroll bar.

I was able to get to the sequence and render in to out. That solved it.

However as soon as I made an edit to the sequence it became unresponsive again. The problem I have now is that the playhead is on the unrendered part of that sequence. So as soon as I open PP it becomes unresponsive.

So I appear to be stuck

What can I do?

Hello  PhilipSE43,

Sorry that you are running into this issue.  What version of Premiere Pro are you using?  Mac or windows?  Would it be possible if you could invite me (nboerman@adobe.com) to the Team Project?  Additionally, is there any crash or does it just hang forever.
-Nate

Hello Nate,

Thank You.

PP is version 14.3.2

Windows

I have invited you

I got it to respond by removing the files in that sequence and replacing them one by one until I found the one that made it crash. I currently have that unlinked.

I've tried using handbrake on the file but it didn't help. It was previously working as I got all of the edits done and the problem started later.

That is great that you discovered it was the media.  Would you mind sending me that one bad clip?

I've tried re-encoding the media using media encoder. Still not working.

Sending it to you now

Incidentally, the other team member on the project does not have an issue with it. Works fine for him
