Hi all,
I'm in a Premiere Teams project, and typically, if someone is editing on a sequence, it switches to 'View Only'. If you want to make changes, and someone is already in the sequence, you shouldn't be allowed in to edit.
I have now been having the problem, however, where the project seems to think there are unpublished changes, and keep duplicating sequences to try and save the progress. I'm wondering if this was a glitch that kept repeating because we don't publish the sequences we never asked for? Or if we're not updating or publishing enough, so the system is incorrectly assuming it needs to go into recover mode? Every user has had the same problem on their end. I'm attaching screen grabs for reference.
Has anyone experienced this issue when workng in Teams? Any help is appreciated!

Hi @allielane, sorry for your troubles. What version of Premiere Pro are you running and could you invite me [upawlik@adobe.com] to the troublesome Team project or a copy of it?
Best,
Udo

Udo, will you be coming back to this. It seems like a very common problem. We have two users, most recent Premiere Pro update. A user has published, but the other user is still locked out of the main sequence, as "View Only". We have a deadline approaching and we need this fixed ASAP.

Sorry for your troubles, there are several edge cases that let you get into a continous duplication loop.
But most of the time you can get out of it when all but one collaborator close the project and the collaborator then searches and deletes any erroneously duplicated sequence and then 'Publish' changes. The duplicates usually have "Copy ([user name] 04/27/24)" appended to the sequence name. Other collaborator should do the same in case they're still seeing the duplication message after re-opeing and updating the project.
Regards,
Udo

I wouldn't say "edge" cases. This seems to be a recurring issue that is affecting even the newest updates. Is anyone at Adobe attempting to resolve the problem? or at least trying to offer some work-arounds? I've been using Team projects for the last 3 months, and on multiple versions, each time this problem has caused frsutrating delays and long nights, if this expericnce continues like it has in Ver 25 I won't be relying on Premiere/Adobe in a professional long-form post project again.

We're seeing this too - also noticing that on a machine that isn't the one editing a given sequence, that sequence is often not showing as locked when (as I understand it) it should be.
Wondering if it could be that or possibly unrelated changes (e.g. moving clips into other bins that haven't been added to any sequence yet) are confusing the systemm thinking the sequence in question has been edited when it hasn't.
As a consequence my colleagues edits seem to be reverting to older versions.
Media files are on Synology shared storage, collaborating on both Mac and Windows.
FWIW every time we dip our toes into Team Projects we seem to get bitten with things not working quite right.
