My teammate and I have been collaborating on a Premiere Teams project for the past week. Something happened where the dynamic link between the Premiere project and After Effects file was broken.
We've spent hours now looking through our local files, Dropbox files, application cache, Creative Cloud files, and can find no trace of the After Effects file. Whenever I attempt to open the AE teams file I get the following "unsupported project version" dialog, but after pressing ok there's no way to update as it suggests.
Any assistance would be appreciate as it's nearly 30 hours of animation work lost.

The update can be found in the Creative Cloud application.

Thanks for the reply. But can you point me to where? My collaborator and I searched through every field we could and found no trace of our project in there.

Updates can be found in the Creative Cloud app.

Ok, thought you meant updates to our Team Project. I know where the software updates are and we're both on the latest version of Premiere and AE.
Honestly, we figured out a workaround so would still be nice to know what happened. But, it's not as pressing at the moment.

Glad you found a workaround. But if AE and PPRO are on the lastest version you should not see the "unsupported project version" message.
Best,
Udo

Ok, well we did--hence why I posted here 🙂

Hi! My team is having the exact same issue. We all have the latest Premiere and AE, and we just suddendly started getting this error today. I'm wondering what is the workaround you figured out?
I noticed that I can roll back the Team Project version to the previous day, and then create a new Team Project from that and then it works again. Then I could drag through Media Browser everything done today to the newly created Team Project, but I'm hoping there is a better way.

Hello, sorry you're getting issue.
Your workaround was basically the same as mine. My teammate rolled back to a version that brought back the important assets with it, and he saved a new instance and we moved on from there.
Not satisfied with the "you shouldn't be getting this error on the latest version" response. Because we did!

Thanks for the answer! Yes, this is a very irritating issue. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and deleting the caches and all that, and still the same error.
Hopefully this will be fixed.

Hey!
Film School kid here, I'm cutting together a 35 min documentary where we just got the same error message. Can you explain more thoroughly how you worked around this issue? Our project was shared between three people, one of us still has it open on premiere, but the other two can't even open the file. The loading bar comes up just before the same error message tells us we need to update.
We all have the latest version of premiere, and I can't seem to find any place online where someone actually talks about how to deal with the issue. Thank you!

Hi @Michael32794119jghr
This message usually appears if a collaborator has shared changes using a newer version.
Are you still on PPRO_23.6? Or have you all already updated to the recently released 24.0 version?
Best,
Udo
