Team projects - issues logging in, connecting, saving, freezing

Hoping someone out there can shed some light. I have been using team projects ( shared with one other person who is the owner) and for the most part teams has been smooth. That is until we got to the sound mix and colour grading stage of our 30min documentary ( adding more fx) . These are the problems I keep having:

1. opening the project sometimes takes over 10 mins.

2. it goes from being smooth to editing to stalling.

3. the update and publish options vanish

4. auto save stops working

5. I have to keep reconnecing proxies

I could go and on.

when it works it's great, when it doesn't we lose hours and hours of time.

I've tried everything;

1. Restarting everything, including the modem

2. updating software

3. deleting media cache files and other "fixes"

Any clues? Does team projects rely soly on internet connection? if so, how can i try editing a premier project file offline when i'm not the owner?

Very frustrated,

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the trouble you've run into.

The bigger a project grows the longer it takes to scan project items for changes. Especially, if a project contains large and complex Sequences (including several backup copies of them) or heavy usage of color correction or certain effects (motion tracking).
To keep the sync time as small as possible we recommend working with 'Linked Team Projects'. This lets you split a large Team project into smaller more manageable projects that only contain relevant sequences and media for current editing needs. You could split the Team Project into scenes, episodes, timeframes, per editor, etc... - You may want to just give it a try and see what works for your team.  It is generally a good idea to keep the number of backup sequence low or ‘park’ them in linked project - Linked Team Projects.

Team Projects allows for offline work, you can open a Team Project which was previously opened and synced without an active internet connection. We save all changes locally and sync any changes to the server once you're connected again.

Best,

Udo
