This is specific to team projects.
After having Premiere auto-generates a transcription, I edit the transcription and make corrections.
When I close the team project and reopen it, all my edits are GONE.
Captions edits, however, save ok when reopening.
Everything else saves ok as well such as sequence edits etc.
I tested a normal non-teamprojects premiere project file saved to my computer, and transcription edits save just fine.
There was another post about this issue, but I don't think it was for team projects, just regular project files.
I speculate Adobe fixed this issue for non-team project files when moving from beta to 15.4, but in team projects, the issue persists.

Re: Transcribed Sequence not saving with Project F... - Adobe Support Community - 12020212

Hi
I'm able to reproduce the issue on my end and created a bug report. It seems if you only edit transcriptions and nothing else, we don't trigger an auto-save and the edits will be wiped out after closing and re-opening the Team Project.
As a workaround you could add (or slightly move) an empty dummy marker to the sequence after you edited the transcriptions. This will force an auto-save and your transcriptions edits should be retained after closing and re-opening the Team Project.
Best,
Udo

Just to note, I'm having the issue using Premiere Pro 15.4.1 (Build 6) released in August 2021.
So I'm assuming speech to text transcriptions are now out of beta.

Hi,
Thanks for the workaround with markers, it worked for me.
I also stumbed on a similar workaround...
In my situation, I already have my captions track created but..
After making a transcript change, if I click on "Create captions" yet again, and create a dummy captions track, the transcript will save in this case as well.
I guess it must be force triggering the auto-save as you described.
I just delete the multiple dummy captions tracks after I know the transcript is saved.
