Are you interested in live-streaming your creative process on Twitch.tv?

Hi everyone!

I'm a little new around here so I'll go ahead and introduce myself: I'm Kathleen (Kirker) Martin and I am working as the Support Product Manager for Mobile. Along with offering support for our mobile users, I am also a dedicated artist with a background in illustration. Recently, I have been live-streaming my creative process on Twitch.tv and I LOVE it.

Twitch is a huge online video broadcasting site. It is used primarily for streaming video games but has recently gotten a lot of attention for its Creative section (heard of the Twitch Bob Ross marathon?). Adobe even has its own channel where artists from all over the world (even a few of our own Adobe Evangelists!) stream their creative processes using a multitude of platforms.

Here's the link to the Adobe Channel --> Adobe Twitch Channel

Are you interested in broadcasting your work on the Adobe Channel? Please note that there is an application process to become a broadcaster on the Adobe Channel. Not only do you need to be skilled artists, but they need to be comfortable as a broadcasting personality . This means:

  • engaging with chat and being comfortable chatting with viewers vocally. They're real people who will be interested in what you're doing and asking questions as well as sharing their thoughts (which is welcome!).
  • being comfortable on camera (yes, that means showing your face!)
  • being comfortable with Twitch culture. It can take some time to get used to the norms, as in any social environment. This can only be learned by spending time within the community, asking questions and participating in chat.
  • We are looking for high energy broadcasters who are able to work and chat at the same time. Viewers love hearing stories, being asked questions and hearing what you have to say about your craft. The broadcaster generally keeps up this pattern of working and chatting simultaneously for the duration of the stream.
  • We are also looking for creatives with great skills even if they are more quiet. We may want some "chillstreams", or we may pair you up with a commentator who can come into your stream on skype and do more of the chatting.
  • And of course, we need people who support Adobe’s branding by maintaining a positive tone and focusing on the art. This doesn't mean obsessing about the Adobe products, but it does mean keeping a professional attitude about your work and the channel.

So, how do I go about getting started?

1) Meet your community. Twitch.tv/Adobe is a great place to start learning about how Twitch works. Join the chat and explore a little on your own! Here's the main page for Twitch Creative with tons of other channels to enjoy: Twitch Creative main page

2) Get a couple streams under your belt! Feel free to post here or message me when you're going to begin so we can come watch and help if needed. (See the tips below for info on streaming software)

3) Please post here if you are interested in applying as well as a link to your channel.

More info:

  • Here's a link to the most commonly used broadcasting software, OBS: https://obsproject.com/ ‌ . Set-up is a bit daunting but once you get the basics, it's a breeze.

(Keep in mind streaming from a Mac can be a little difficult but by no means impossible.. For example, 3rd part software like Sound Flower may be needed to output music audio while you stream )

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Still interested.  But never heard anything back.  I found out I could borrow my friends camera while he is away until October... so I have access to a camera that he has been using for his personal Twitch Stream.....  I just have to get it from his wife.

Hi!

My name is Rebecca Tillman-Young. I am a traditional painter with a BFA in Painting. I recently started Twitch streaming my oil painting and I would love to be considered if you're still open to new artists for the Adobe channel. You can see my work on my website here: www.rebeccatillmanyoung.com, and my twitch channel is here: Twitch

I've been streaming for a couple weeks now and have a small but loyal following so far. All my social media links are also on my twitch channel page if you'd like to see those as well. I'm currently scheduled for streaming Tuesday-Thursday, but have been streaming 6 days a week for the past few weeks.

Thanks for your time!

-Rebecca

Still highly interested...... and actually have been doing something similar already with Adobe.

Adobe Generation Professional featured me as guest lecturer for their animation course in October.  And I will be the guest lecturer on Tuesday for their illustration course on Tuesday!!!!

The courses are hosted via Adobe Connect and are FREE!

Hello Kathleen!

My name is Dominic, but on Twitch I go by Kaciarama. I have been using Twitch as a lurker for quite some time and I recently decided to focus my time in streaming consistently. I am an illustrator that focuses in primarily concept art, along with narrative illustrations or childrens book type work. I have been streaming and learning to improve my stream every day. Many parts of my stream improve thanks to my small but dedicated audience that enjoy talking to me and having good conversation no matter what it may be about. We like to enjoy each other's time and not only make the stream about the artwork, but the artist and the people involved as well. If you would like, I would love for you guys to check out my stream sometime. I stream very regularly, from 12pm EST to about 6pm EST. Sometimes longer depending on the day. I will link my Twitch and my website as well.

Thank you so much!

Hi,

Im Zhanji from Trade Secrets.  Im an avid gamer but also a content creator and motion graphic designer with 10+ years of adobe suite experience.

I have been streaming for 8 months and building my twitch/youtube channel.  You can find both here.

http://www.twitch.tv/hsc3d

I stream all of my creation and gaming.  I work mainly in C4D and AE, using Element to do most of my 3d animation within AE for a faster workflow.

If you are interested in any of my background/work history feel free to contact me and I can send you my resume,

Also please fix the memory issue in CC 2017 I've lost 2 days of work at this point and as much as I love the products and support them this is killing my time/stream/productivity.

Thanks,

Zhanji.

Hey my name is Jan aka J4N_SOLO.

I really would love to be a part of the Adobe-Channel family! I mostly do digital Illustrations and poster artworks with Ai and Ps but I also create some traditional drawings with pen and pencil and 2d animations. My twitch channel is twitch.tv/j4n_solo and has been up there for about 1 1/2 years now. Also you might check out some works at behance.net/crowndeersign.

I should probably say that I am from Germany but I do stream in both languages english and german.

Looking forward hearing from you.

Ahoi Jan

So I am ready ready ready for Twitch.

I have been getting a lot of practice in doing guest lectures for Adobe Generation Professional and Adobe Connect.  Interacting with the audience (which is not unlike what I do in Social Media Management).  Also did a Tech Wednesday on Adobe Portfolio using Adobe Connect (again interacting with viewers)..... and then even bigger I did an Instagram Live stream from the offices of Wacom for their product launch event (also interacting with users and allowing them to ask Wacom experts questions).

I am running a Logitech c922 camera and have a Blue Snowball mic!  I will set up Twitch on my computer asap... (after German Karneval this week).

So let me know what I can do to get started.  I can also share the links to the Adobe Gen Pro lectures to show how interact and engage viewers.

Kenn.

My name is Andrew Raeymaekers - I go by Pocketsxx on Twitch.

I have been streaming for nearly 2 months with a pretty great and supportive  following. I do photography and game art retouches on live stream. In life I'm a Creative Director in the Travel Industry for 30 travel brands and professional Retouch Artist. I would love to be hosted by Adobe on your Twitch Stream.

I use Adobe Lightroom for all of my retouch work on stream. I am very comfortable in front of an audience on stream and have a small but very loyal following that I am continuing to grow.

Here is a link to my channel: Twitch

And here is my IG account where i post all of my work: Pocketsxx (@pocketsxx) • Instagram photos and videos

It again would be amazing to be featured by Adobe on Twitch.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Pocketsxx
