Hello-

Cleanest and most proficient way to add text under my still images, looks like many options but for straight forward copy text what is the best practice?

InDesign would probably be best if there is a lot of text.

If you're just looking for a line or two, you could do it in Photoshop.

It depends... will these be for online use or for print?

  • If online, you might consider Spark Post. It's a free app that you can download with an Adobe ID and you can use it on smart phones, tablets or desktop.
  • If in print as in sheetfed printing for a book for example you might want to layout your images and text using InDesign.
  • If it's a printed photograph (printed by you or a professional lab) you might want to add the text in Photoshop
  • If it's for a poster you might find Illustrator or Photoshop to be the right tool.

Please provide more details on how you will use the images.

On Adobe Portfolio/Behance web sites, I use Captions -- real HTML text which can be indexed, searched and translated.   Text added to actual image files is rarely a good choice on the web except for watermarks or branding.

Not sure what you're doing or which Adobe software / service you're using so it's impossible to offer more than guesses.
