I have converted my computer to Windows 11

This note is about customizing the Edge browser to have an 'UN-cluttered' look

Search at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ for all windows help

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/hide-your-favorites-bar-in-microsoft-edge-282672f...
This worked to have favorites show when opening a new tab (default was NO favorites)
Click three dots ... at upper right for Settings and More
Select Settings
Select Appearence
Select Customize Toolbar
Select Show Favorites Bar and set to ALWAYS

Want to remove quick links
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/how-to-disable-suggested-quick-links/dac...
Did a new tab and clicked the 'gear' * and selected Custom
Set Recent Bing searches to OFF
Left Show greeting ON
Set Quick links to OFF
Set Content to OFF

Now a new tab in Edge is the blank screen that I like

I don't like icons in the center of the taskbar at the bottom... SO...

Right click the taskbar

Click taskbar settings

Click taskbar behaviors

Click taskbar alignment

Default is Center

I changed it to Left

Getting my computer ready for Windows 11 took a Bios update and removing the M.2 drive

https://community.adobe.com/t5/video-hardware-discussions/windows-11-one-successful-install/td-p/126...

Installing Windows 11 on the SSD was virtually the same as installing Windows 10 on the M.2

Now that I have Edge configured the way I like, and all the other programs I use installed, I don't actually notice any difference in operation from Win10 to Win11... of course, Win11 has new security features built in, but nothing that I have noticed while running the programs I use

When 2025 and the end of Win10 support arrives I will find out if Win11 will install as an upgrade over the top of the Win10 she uses, or if I will need to do a fresh format of her SSD boot drive with a Win11 install DVD... since that is 3+ years away I'm not going to worry about her computer right now
