Hello all,

I am looking to improve my product package design skill set.  I work in a sporting goods industry and we are looking to expand the creativity of our packaging.  What I am looking for is any good peer groups, online classes, Seminars, or Conferences that I can take.  Specifically I am looking for package design as it pertains to package type, shape, material, creativity, and manufacture.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Please post the name of the program you use so a Moderator may move this message to the correct program forum

This forum is not about help with programs... a program would be Photoshop or InDesign or Illustrator or ???

I use the entirety of the Adobe Creative Suite.  My question is not about how to do XYZ in a specific program. It is asking for resources for Package Design in the Professional Community. IE, programs like Photoshop World for Package Designers or similar programs, seminars, classes, Conferences.

I think package design is so interesting. How do you make your client's product stand out on the shelves? How do you make a consumer feel good about the purchase they made? I'd be interested in just hearing how some of the great designers think about these kinds of things.

John,

That question is precisely the kind of question that belongs in The Lounge forum.

There are several industry magazines and websites you could check into

Here are a couple that I look at:

the first few are primarily packaging, the last one, in-store displays.

www.packagingoftheworld.com

Home | P2PI

The dieline is a good source of design inspiration, too.
