My website scrolls smoothly in Safari, but jerky in Google Chrome?

I've built a website that is fully functional with smooth scrolling in Safari, but when viewed in Google Chrome the scrolling is very jerky/sticky.  Please let me know of any solutions/troubleshooting ideas you might have.

Are you using ordinary JavaScript or jQuery for your smooth scrolling?
