It's so conspicuous it becomes invisible, sitting there all by itself... How about making a fancy big button there?

agree its a stupid place to put it but the problem is Jive assumes all browsers work the same i.e, a Windows phone screen is the same as a Mac desktop so the current placment is the "one size fits all' solution... sure, once you know its there!
