Today marks the 50th anniversary of NZ's change over from pounds shillings and pence, to dollars and cents. My favourite bit from the news report was from a Kiwi banker who handled the change over, which included a visit to one of our prisons to explain how it would work. One of the inmates apparently asked what would happen to his buried loot when he finished his sentence in ten years time?
