From WORD to PDF - making the CLUB'S Newsletter Media Rich?

I am an Activist in several Organizations and am trying to create a "TEMPLATE eMagazine" like platform that includes multi-program and realistic rick media distribution via PDF. The realistic and template parts means the finished platform is non-code learning in nature; any examples?

Does it have to be PDF?  Why not use Adobe Spark instead?
