Now that Encore is no longer supported I was wondering which software people are using to create MPEG-2 DVDs / Blu-Rays.  This not limited to Adobe products BTW.  I'm interested in what people are actually using and why.

Hi Nancy, I may be wrong here, but isn't Encore still available just no longer being developed further (like Fireworks for example)?

Encore CS6 is only available to paying Creative Cloud subscribers who have access to older software builds.   AFAIK, Encore is no longer sold or supported.

Unless there has been a recent change, it is still possible to buy Premiere Pro CS6 and the bundled Encore... without a Cloud subscription

Link to buy CS6 via telephone http://www.adobe.com/products/cs6.html read all the way to the bottom

I should also mention, that if you try to get the missing library files (Templates, etc..)

Missing library, templates, template projects in Adobe products

You get sent to "The Simpsons" which is utterly useless.

I don't know a better place, or a direct link to any of Adobe's web staff, so I made a report Encore page has a BAD link in hopes that SOMEONE will be able to contact the web staff to get that corrected

Ann Bens posted links for the Encore content, see reply #6 in Encore missing library and buttons, and link to retrieve missing funtional content down

As far as buying CS6, I have read that the telephone operator will ask, and will not sell to people using Windows 10 or Mac El Capitan due to compatibility issues... so here are some other programs

I do NOT use these, so have NO idea if they will do what you need

Encore alternative http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/dvdastudio

-or http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/dvdarchitectpro

-or http://www.deskshare.com/dvd-authoring-burning-software.aspx

-or http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/ replace PPro and Encore

Also, is it OK with you if I move this to the Encore forum, or would you rather it stay in the Connections forum?

Thanks for those links, John.  Let's keep this discussion in Connections.

After a bad experience with Roxio (kept crashing), I ultimately bought Wondershare DVD Creator which worked seamlessly for me on Windows 10.  1 lifetime license, $49.

Hi Nancy,

Does Wondershare support Blu-Ray? I looked through their info and didn't see any mention of support for BD discs.

I've been using Encore, but I'm very worried about it suddenly not working any more...

Encore runs just fine on my machine with W10!!!

Have been using it for years now. And it does not just stop working....

If Encore runs on your machine with W7/8, it will run on W10 also.

LATEST

Just to note, I'm another happy user of Wondershare for my DVD burning...the latest versions go up to 4K video by the way.  For various reasons I choose not to have Premiere CS6 (with Encore) installed but this works well.

If you want something really cheap and cheerful, there's also some Freeware called DVD Flick which is good for fast, simple jobs....options for menus etc are basic but if it's just a one off DVD to send to a client or something, it works.
