Hello, There is a bug in the detection logic on that page for the latest version of Flash Player for Linux (this has been reported to the folks who manage that page). The about Flash Player page is updated with the latest Flash Player versions available on desktop systems. Hi there, Flash Player does not require a system restart for it to work after installation, however, depending on the browser, you may need to restart the browser for it to load the newly installed plugin.  On Mac, you need to actually terimate the browser (simply closing the browser doesn't completely terminate the browser processes) and launch the browser again. Hi UlfDunkel, The file you are referring to, Install Adobe Flash Player.app(v3.3.9.0), is a 'stub' installer that, when executed, downloads the actual Flash Player installer and installs Flash Player silently.  I've executed this 'stub' installer on OS X 10.8.5 and it installs Flash Player successfully.  What version of OS X are you using?  And, if you still have it, what is the file name of the installer file that you downloaded? Hello, Actually, Flash Player ActiveX and Plugin entries do display in 'Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features' when installed.  If you are using IE11 and Flash content is not displaying it may be due to the reason Mike mentions.  Microsoft has changed their User Agent string information, which many web-sites use to detect the browser and display content compatible with that browser.  Since the User Agent string is now considerably different in IE11, web-sites that use the User Agent string are incorrectly identifying the browser and the content does not display correctly.  Microsoft has published documents on recommended ways to detect the browser, however, it's up to the content developers to implement this on their web-sites. i MonH, Unless someone deleted the file, it should exist on your system.  If you're on a 32-bit OS, the file will be in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash.  If you're on a 64-bit OS, the file will be in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash.  You can edit the file manually, or edit the update settings in the Flash Player Settings Manager, which may be easier.  To launch the Settings Manager, either navigate to the Control Panel and select the Flash Player icon, or launch a non-Chrome browser and view Flash content, then right-click on the content to display the Flash Player context menu.  Select Global Settings. When the Settings Manager displays, navigate to the Advanced tab. Click the Change Update Settings button Select the Never check for updates (not recommended) radio button Your update option has been set Viewing the mms.cfg file after making the updates, it should contain the following:      AutoUpdateDisable=1      SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0 AutoUpdateDisable=1 is what disables the updates (background and notification) completely.
