I may have found the resulting page on page #2, googling for "Adobe UXP". I guess I found the title "Photoshop JS API · Photoshop UXP (Alpha)" more inviting than "Documentation-UXP for Adobe Photoshop". – I think I believed the other document was about some "Documentation-UXP" rather than "UXP for Adobe Photoshop" ☺

I'm trying to record an Action that's aligning a layer. However, no step is recorded when I change the alignment baseline from "layer" to "canvas". So, the recorded Action will be very brittle, depending on the future current value of this application setting. Is there a way to persist the layer alignment baseline setting? I couldn't find a corresponding ExtendScript property for this setting, too. So I cannot create a corresponding script, either. Which property would I need to set in JavaScript? Your answers are appreciated.

ExtendScript is being slowly phased out in favor of modern JavaScript UXP APIs. By @Erin F. That's excellent news!! Actually, that's what I was going to suggest, not being aware of the fact the UXP already existed. My thought was the everything is at the ready already: Adobe products are all written in NodeJS on Windows a COM library already exists So it should be easy (yet loads of work still) to create a NodeJS library binding based on COM on Windows for a start. So, with UXP we can create a NodeJS project, require the appropriate Adobe library and then use all the tools there already are on the market for development for automating Adobe products? Did I get that right from this page?

Just a minor flaw: The text doesn't get updated before relasing the key: So, I used "keydown" instead of "keyup" event: slider.addEventListener('keyup', function () { slider.onChanging() }) … resulting in: However, I suggest this line to become intrinsic to the Slider control itself, for it to behave like this regardless of whether an ExtendScript programmer may have missed to implement it himself.

My observation, hitting the [RETURN] key on the keyboard wouldn't trigger the defaultElement's onClick() handler, was wrong. Today I added an alert("Test") to the onClick() handler and it got triggered all the time. Apologies for not checking thoroughly before posting here!

I'm actually using the Photoshop "Image Processor" script ("C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Presets\Scripts\Image Processor.jsx") as a base for my own script. The code therein is pretty much my code, too. I'm not sure about which SDK the slider is residing in. I guessed it is a core SDK component?

I've been struggling with the Regular Expression implementation of ExtendScript quite a bit, because it doesn't parse Regular Expressions correctly. The following information may be helpful to others: The ExtendScript Regular Expression parser fails to correctly parse positive character groups (characters enclosed in square brackets). Quantifiers and the dot (".") don't make sense in a positive character group, so characters representing these quantifiers are not escaped in positive character groups. However, for the ExtendScript Regular Expression parser to interpret positive character groups, you MUST escape those characters. For example: A valid Regular Expression like this: /[?.*]/ … must be written like this in ExtendScript: /[\?\.\*]/ … for the ExtendScript Regular Expression parser to accept the Regular Expression.

The slider control can be updated, when it has focus, by pressing LEFT ARROW or RIGHT ARROW keys.
But when I do, no onChanging() events are fired. Nor is the onChange() event when I hit TAB to move on to another control.
This seems to be an accessibility issue.

I read in the Hennamann/ExtendScript-for-Visual-Studio-Code GitHub repository that it takes a separate language server to fully support ExtendScript because of the language extensions added to ExtendScript. In order to more easily get IDE support, wouldn't it be feasible to migrate those extensions to become compatible with JavaScript? The most easy approach would be to use const strings or one-line comments instead of pragmas for configuring target application etc., e.g.: "use strict"

I read this three year old article about UXP "New World" replacing the existing ExtendScript engine in Adobe products.
When I'm writing code in VS Code with version 2.0.0beta2 - 2022-02-14 of the ExtendScript Debugger extension, it still looks like the "old" ExtendScript engine is used.
How can I make sure the new engine is being used when writing scripts for Adobe products?

I have a sequence (A) consisting of just another sequence (B) that's itself containing a number of clips: I'd like to apply a smooth slow motion effect to sequence (A), but all I can do is to change playback speed using Effect Controls > Time Remapping. I don't see an option for having the time remapping use Optical Flow. How can I apply Optical Flow to sequences?

I stumbled across this same issue and was confused because this new behaviour seems undocumented. From what I discovered, you cannot install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Adobe Acrobat DC on the same machine anymore. If Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is installed on a machine, Adobe Acrobat DC won't install successfully. To install Adobe Acrobat DC, you must uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader DC first.

After QuickTime and its formats have been deprecated, what's the currently supported way of exporting videos with alpha channel? I'd like to import such overlay video clips into Virtual DJ, Camtasia or other Windows 10 video tools, so the suggested alpha format should be generally available and supported. I installed Adobe Premiere Pro on a fresh Windows 10x64 installation with latest NVIDIA drivers. When I launch Adobe Premiere Pro, an error message box is displayed, telling me that the NVIDIA Quadro K5000M I'm using is unsupported by Premiere Pro. I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers, and I even re-installed my whole Windows 10x64 system. No change. How can I convince Adobe Premiere Pro about the fact that I'm using the right graphics card?

I regularly find myself arming a track for recording while forgetting to un-arm the previously recorded track. This multi-selecting behaviour differs completely from Windows user style guide where additive selections are done by CTRL-clicking. I couldn't find an appropriate setting in Audition. Is there a setting to change this behaviour, so that arming a track will automatically un-arm a previously selected track when CTRL key is not held down?
