That is how Shape layers work in AE. You are removing not a path between points but a point on a path - the path stays. If you need to do version A you just need to make two point path and don't join them, or if you f.eg. need your path to be closed (ver.b) and then make your path to open (like on ver. b) you kan make it in severa ways but simpest would be to use "Trim Path" from your path options (Add "Trim Path")

It hard to say without knowing exactly how your project was set. But for me it looks as borders of layer with your explosion that was keyed out fro background - if that is the case simle Garbage matte (masking out borders should help.

There can be many reasons but first you can try to reset your AE preferences. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while starting After Effects. Let us know if it helps.

That effect don't have that ability. To do what you need you have to use other effect like any of Particle generating f.eg. Particle Playground, Particcle World, Particle Systems or paid for most advanced particle generator Trapcode Particular form Red Giant.

If it tells you that it is not closed, it means that it is not closed - you just cannot see it, but it is open.
If you are on Windows you have two option to close any (almost any) spoftware that runs in bakground: 1. Just reset your computer and try to update then 2. Open your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), find AE process on Processes tab and close it by selecting it and clicking End Task - after you close all AE tasks try to update

You gave us nothing - give some more info about your setup. Is that render from AE or maybe from PPro or maybe you are just rerendering a file to different format with AME? And you have to ask yourselve: If everything works ok for every render but AME fails to render one project - is that issue with your project or AME? In my opinion issue have to be with your project, but we need to know about your project to be able to help you.

Where did you found your template? Do you have any assets in your template folder or just template AE file? If you have just AE (*.aep) file - that mean that you don't have any assets so you have to put something of yours as assets - if you should have assets - contact person that gave you (that you bought that template from) about missing assets. If you have assets in your folder folder with AE project but you can't see them in your tempate projecy in AE - that mean that you have to relink them with your project (how to do that bellow)

It is possible and it can be something really wrong with that render or really everything can be fine. All depends on what is in your AE composition. So please tell us more about what is in your composition - maybe there is something that can be optimized.

Your shape is correctly fitted into your composition. You have 41pixel black stroke around your shape and stroke is outside of your shape. So if you need your stroke - everything is fitted correctly as it is - if you don't need stroke - just turn it of
or lower stroke width to 0 pixels
and then fit to comp.

That is really simple and basic knowledge of After Effects so you should start by learning AE basics. You can start here: https://helpx.adobe.com/pl/after-effects/tutorials.html
What you are looking for is called "parenting" - you have to parent all moving parts together in correct order and give them movement. Of course, you can automate that much more with expressions but that is more complicated so for you, I would suggest just parenting and key frames.

There are different - f. eg. they have different bitrates. And yes - if you import a file to vimeo/youtube with correct specs it sgould not be converted.

If you wish to use less buttons you can also just use Page Up/Page Down buttons for moving by one frame and Pg Up/Pg down + Shift for moving by 10 frames

First you have to learn some After Effects basics (you can start here: https://helpx.adobe.com/pl/after-effects/tutorials.html). What you are asking here is really basic. Uou have to make a precomposition from that png, attach that precomposition to your tracker, then go into your precomposition and make any changes you wish - f.eg. separate your text from your "stop sign" and add circular movement onto your text.

There is plenty of ways to achieve that effect, you can do it by hand, you can use a preset, you can buy a template or plugin and all of them will be ok - it depends on you what way you will chose. For start you can check those tutorials:

First tryto turn off Mercury enginge by going into Project Settings > Video Rendering and Effects > Use > Mercury Software Only You also should update your GPU drivers to newes one. Let us know if that helped.

What you can do first is: 1) Clear your cache. Edit > Purge > All memory and disk cache... 2) Reset your preferences. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while starting After Effects.
3) Turn off Merury engine by going into Project Settings > Video Rendering and Effects > Use > Mercury Software Only
Or your computer have not enough ressources to work on your render at the same time when you work in some other software. What are your computer specs?

Please send us more info, many a screenshot of your workflow. There an be several ways to reach what you need but without knowing exactly - it is hard to recommend something specific. F.eg. In your tittle you are asking how to resize mask and layer/image inside of it - here is straight forward answer - just sale your image and mask should scale with it. But if you wish to scale/resize just mask on a first image - just double mouse click on mask handles and sale with your mouse. If you can't see mask handles just press Shift+Ctrl+H

You did not provided enough info to help you exactly. But if you did a tutorial with Adv. Lightning and it did not work as in tutorial - provide us link to that tutorial and tell us where the problem occured. If you just watched butch of random tutorials and nothing about adv. lightning - you should learn more about how adv. liogghtning efect works. Ok. So first of all - 44 seconds even if it is 4K footage shoudl npot render for 17 hours. Ok. I know it can but I'm guessing that your composition is not so compicated that it should. So first think about optimalization of your compositions and workflow: - most common one is to use much images with much larger resolution that it need - rendering from to slow HDD or to to slow HDD - depending on what kind of footage you have As for your question - masking does not help because AE have to count whole composition to show only masked part so your render wont be faster but what you can do is: - render those parts that will not change - so backgrounds, particles - anything what will not change - render several of precomps/layers/effects that will not change and use those renders in your composition - render into image sequences - why? During 17 hours of rendering bunch of things can hapen so it is better to have for exaple 1000 frames good and rest corruptred (power outage, issue with files, issue with computer, codecs etc) and then just rerender last 100 frames and join all of them in AME into one f. eg. mp4 than render for 16 hours and by power outage or any other reason land with corrupted mp4 or mov file that can't be saved/player/used and you have to start from the begining.

And it was that way for a long time. Why? Reason is simple: GiF is a graphics/image format not a movie/video format and as such it is better coded into Photoshop. So always if yo work in any other software (AE, PPro) it is muh better to render video into f. eg. h254 and then import to PS and export as a GiF.

You have to check what kind of codec was used to compress your mov files. Probably that is the issue - something with compatibility between AE and video codec that was used for compression fo those files.

So.First you have Graph Editor turned on. As for setting your columns as you wish You have to turn on your columns that you need or just switch between you have on that collumn presset to another one with different settings. To switch between pressets just press F4 on your keyboard - you should see chane right away. Then if you are one one of the presets you can chose wihat columnt to turn on or of by going into your column bar and use right mouse button and chose what to turn on/of.
