A misconception here. One does not load anything into Bridge, it is merely a sophisticated browser which shows the contents of your drives. So Bridge is not showing you the content of your drive. May simply be a permissions issue. What is your operating system? (It always helps to state this together with Bridge version you have issue with.)

It is simply not possible to convert JPEG files to RAW images. As previously stated, you have wrapped your JPEG files in DNG containers. Yes, your operating system will show them as "xxx.dng" but that does not mean that they contain RAW data - they don't, they are still JPEG files. I don't know how think you have managed to get Adobe DNG Converter to work with JPEG files as it requires RAW data otherwise an error is generated:

If your files appear as .DNG JPG in the header then your files do not contain RAW data but JPEGs wrapped in a DNG container file. It is important to realise that not all DNG files contain RAW data and opening such files in Camera Raw will restrict the functions available. You can wrap JPEG files in a DNG container file but that does not convert them to true DNG files, which is impossible, they remain JPEGs. That is what the header is telling you.

Are you by any chance uing the Camera Raw Filter accessed from Photoshop? You need to use the Camera Raw Plugin on a RAW file to see this feature.

In addition to previous comment, Camera Raw can also be opened from Adobe Bridge if you have that installed. In conclusion you cannot use it as a stand alone app, Photoshop and/or Adobe Bridge must host it.

OK, I understand now. Still would like the 5 select subsections to have their own shortcuts though. I guess that would be asking for quite a lot!

"it is strange that it is the only one of four without a direct shortcut" Which four do you mean? I am thinking that there are five options included in "Select" - Subject, Sky, Background, Objects, People. I would like to see a separtate shortcut for each!

When to use Reflection Removal The feature is designed to deal with large-area reflections when shooting through windows. Many other types of reflections occur in nature and are captured in photographs, but this feature may not recognize and handle those.

If you are viewing the video using some other software, then the file is technically open and you will not be able to write any metadata to the file until it is closed. I think that the only way around this is to view the video in the Bridge Preview Panel then you should be ok. Look in Bridge Preferences and check under Playback that the option "Play Video Files Automatically When Previewed" is checked. Looping is also an option.

In the Filter Panel, under Keywords, if you select multiple keywords to filter on, then the filter process will deliver all images which contain ANY of those keywords i.e. the logical OR function. If you check the 'AND' for keywords box, you will get all images which contain ALL of those keywords i.e. the logical AND function. In the past only the default OR was available but now you have the option of OR by default or AND by ticking the box. Hope that makes sense. Try it out and you will quickly see how it works. Oh, and yes, you can filter on just keywords. Simply collapse all the the other filter criteria options and ignore them, or look in the hamburger menu next to the word Filter and select only the desired filter criteria. If a particular criteria does not appear in the list even though you have chosen that criteria as a filter option, it means that the images you have selected all share the same criteria so there is nothing to filter on. Here is a link to Adobe's help (you will need to scroll well down to see the help on filtering): https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/bridge/using/view-files-bridge.html

Look under "Window" and make sure you have "PathBar" selected. Then you will see the Pathbar showing the path to any selected file or folder. I am not familiar with "Gallery" on the PC system either.

I may be a Luddite but I personally would not support such an innovation and would shy away from such as a matter of principle. On the face of it, it would negate the need for many valuable photographic skills on the part of the user! Perhaps others would shoot me down over my comment. Good luck.

There are various ways this can be achieved but I think by far the simplest and best is to install Lumigraphics most excellent Utility Script Pack for Bridge. This contains a Keyword Capture script which writes all keywords found in selected files to a text file. Read through this which should help you: https://community.adobe.com/t5/bridge-discussions/updated-script-utility-pack-2-1/m-p/10671973#M15099

I guess many users have their own uses for Collections. For me, they aid quick access to photos satisfying certain criteria e.g. containing a particular keyword or taken before a certain date. These photos might be from many different folders or even different drives so their coordination is much simplified by specifying the appropriate criteria when creating a collection. Smart Collections are just saved searches and therfore, when opening one, the search is performed again which might be slow. The biggest drawback for me is not the concept of collections but that they cannot be organised in any way (like they can in Lightroom Classic) so if one has many collections, all one sees is a lengthy list of them in alphabetical order. Here is Adobe's help on Collections: https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/using/collections-bridge.html

Looks like you are trying to mix and match various versions of Bridge and Photoshop which don't work correctly together I'm afraid. You need to use these apps in the pairs in which they were intended otherwise you will run into incompatibility issues as you already have. When I try to launch Photoshop's Image Processor tool from Adobe Bridge 2022 (v12.0.4.286), I get the following error message: "Install the latest version of Photoshop to continue.." I still encounter this error even after updating to the latest version of Photoshop (2025/v26.1.0). Is there a way to fix this without installing the latest version of Bridge? I'm not a big fan of the UI changes made in Bridge v13 and above. By @SoftwareUser2000
