You can create captions with Adobe Express here: https://www.adobe.com/express/feature/video/add-caption Select Upload your video Drag and drop file into uploader Captions will generate automatically Select Download to save file as is or Open in Adobe Express to edit (the latter is best so you can check for any errors in captions).

Yes. I believe Adobe will collaborate with competitors. It's upsetting to see Adobe fail on this mission. It was clear the Figma app was better in 2017-2019. Yet Adobe powered ahead with stand alone apps. Very unfortunate to have no competitors.

Jarle Leirpoll has a huge book, 1200 pages, "The Cool Stuff in Premiere Pro " ... that is getting a bit old in a few places, but still has by FAR the best overall look at how to quickly, accurately, and completely do about anything in Premiere. From setup, system, and general preferences on through editing, sound, graphics, color, sending to AfterEffects/Audition, multicam, everything. Also check out his website ... PremierePro.Net which has a ton of essays and demonstrations. As far as I know, a DVD version is based on a single 'image' that is put on however many discs are sold (the same as a 'glass master' is made to make a music CD)
So any serial number for the same version on a disc will/should work
My v2021 disc has a very clean/clear label which I presume is either 'silk screen' or applied with a special disc printer... so a disc purchased from something like ebay MIGHT be okay to buy for such old software

I have the same problem with my old computer. With our own money, which we pay for our subscription, you are making a fool of us. Couldn't you have an option for your legitimate users to choose older versions of photoshop for example 2020, 2019... Forcing us to install broken versions?

the pathway (C:\ProgramData\Adobe\OOBE) in Windows is a HIDDEN system folder. you will need to select the VIEW tab in your file explorer then check the box for HIDDEN ITEMS

Except it's pretty sucky when the only option is to go to a subscription-based software. I'd like to actually own and use the software I purchased. It's not old and unsupported by nature, they decided to stop supporting it so that your option is to subscribe instead of purchase.

i just saw your other post about being charged incorrectly. read my response to that post because you need not change plans to something you do not want if you were incorrectly charged. adobe will refund your charges and cancel your subscription without penalty. make use you have the info they might request (eg, the cancelation email you received after cancelling) when contacting.

I have been trying to unsync my acrobat files - it uploads everything to Adobe cloud. I have never checked sync - so it is the default. I haev tried eveything that has been suggested - it still keeps uploading and not asaving locally. How can I fix this?

Technology is going to keep marching on – that's never going to change. And Adobe moves ahead the OS version requirements in order to take advantage of the latest available capabilities in their newest Creative Cloud releases.
But since the very beginning of Creative Cloud, Adobe has said they would not force customers to upgrade, and by implication, to have to buy new computers. To make good on this promise, subscribers need to be able to access prior releases for older systems (especially Macs) which cannot support the newest CC versions.
In recent years, Adobe has limited this access to only the current release and the one prior. This is called their "N-1" Policy. Now, today, this means that macOS Big Sur (version 11.0) or later is required, since it's the minimum for both CC 2024 and CC 2023. This rules out everybody who, for whatever reason, is running macOS 10.15 Catalina and earlier.
As others have commented above, some older Creative Cloud releases are still available for direct download, but the choice is limited and it is unclear if those links will be available indefinitely.
I think it's not enough to say that folks can keep their old systems and versions in a frozen, isolated bubble, without ever needing to reinstall their apps... "Things happen," components fail, products can need reinstalling. If paying customers do not have ready access to those prior CC releases for their otherwise-perfectly-adequate machines, they are out of luck.
And since Adobe generally does not make complete standalone installers available anymore for CC users (unless you ask), then people aren't aware they need to have in hand the installers that they can no longer get, until it's too late.
I think Adobe urgently needs to do something about this, lest they continue to lose paying customers who can no longer access a Creative Cloud version that will run on their systems. "N-1" should be expanded to a wider window of previous releases (as it used to be), while disavowing all official support on anything older than N-1 and simply asking that any subscribers who need support for those prior releases just come here to the Forums instead.
Adobe of course still has all those older installers, should they decide to make them available – so it's just a policy change, really. I sincerely hope they do something about this soon.

most adobe download links are available from prodesigntools.com. https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html
follow the directions (esp, step 1)
save the install file. it may not remain online.

assumming nothing cc is installed: clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html install the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.
