You should be able to enable pressure on Windows with Wacom without that workaround.  First, make sure you Wacom drivers are up to date.  Second, launch Wacom Tablet Properties, click on Calibrate tab and make sure Use Windows Ink is enabled. ... View more

Im so thankful for this!! Its 08.2022 and it just happened to me. I was about to break down and cry - everything gone! No patterns, no brushes, no custom shapes, not even the basic ones! And the preset files were empty. This is so awful but I managed to copy brush.psp from the 2021 version and replaced the one in 2022 just like you recommended and it worked. I'm sorry it has been so long. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I got so frustrated with the entire thing that I just quit using photoshop until now. I've finally got the bug so bad I've got enough energy to try to fix this again. As requested here are the screen shots of my layer and brush settings. As of yet nothing has improved in terms of me finding a solution that eliminates my opacity problem.   Something interesting to note is that I will be warned intermittently that I need to use a pressure sensitive tablet, see the exclamation points next to my flow jitter and opacity jitter, despite the fact that I am.     Same opacity issue. I cannot reach 100% on the first stroke no matter how hard I press. I must lift and reapply my pen to reach 100%. THIS MAKES ME WANT TO RIP MT HAIR OUT. I bought a Gaomon M10K pro pen tablet and I have the clone stamp issue. it is lagging a lot, but only with the pen. it works fine with the mouse. Hi Chad,   I'm a member of a digital painting program and I and many others have noticed the same problem with mixer brushes. The lag is sometimers so bad that it seriously affects our painting. As you said, it's worse when zoomed out.   Is this something that Adobe is going to resolve soon? It only started happening after I updated to version 23.1.0.   Also, is there a way to uninstall the update? Yes, this is as designed and has been this way for a long time.  Switching colors resets the Shift-connecting-straight-line functionality.  Making this work would be a new feature request.  We would also need to specify what happens to that line if this worked; would it be a gradient from foreground to background of that straight line or just a solid line using the current foreground color?  Should there be options to specify what happens and if so, where do those options live and what's the UI/UX?   ... I watched your video again and it looks like the dual brush is 244px, larger than the primary and is getting applied again when they come close to the current stroke again.  The way to avoid that is to make the dual smaller than the primary or primary bigger than the dual one.  ... View more

This frustrating healing brush behavior has been bugging me for years on different machines. Turning off rulers and setting the "cache tile size" to 1024K (cache level 4) fixed it for me for now. Currently the cursor is painting fluently without lag. Also I am not on a tablet but working with mouse. I had similar problems with an Intuos Pro but they were fixed through the Wacom app. When I turn on rulers the lag returns. Less than before the Cache Level change but still noticeable. Also I have LR open aswell. When I open Indesign with a large document all hell breaks loose.   PS: The rulers still affecting painting behavior in PS 23.2.1 is hilarious to me. Thanks for all the replies people, sorry for my late reaction, I was out sick for a few days. Thank you Chad for mentioning the brushes! It seems like you were right, the standard brush does not have this problem. I use a handful of custom brushes as my defaults and it seems reducing the 'spacing' under the 'brush tip shape' tab helps minimize this problem.   So simple, I feel a bit silly for not thinking of this myself.
