Hi and thanks for that! I just think of the Cloud... DropBox... or CC as a hard drive on someone else's machine!? Most of these cost and I think they like you to decide to save everything on their server.. fill up your cloud/HD and have to buy more! Or is that me being clinical!? I've always started a project by using, 'Save As' to dictate where I keep my files. Thanks again... the more people I meet here, the more I'm enjoying this forum! Richard

I'm awaiting Adobe staff response on this one. As Adobe has totally abandoned their paying customers my only chance to receive any answers from them is here - that's pretty sad but still true. I tried to place an international call today but was just met by a wall of automated response. Buddy, I know my technical setup. It is not a hardware issue. PS became slow as syrup the second we all installed the so called upgrade. Adobe has even tried blaming hardware vendors like NVIDIA for their Illustrator issues before, that was solidly declined by NVIDIA. It's become quite pathetic really. Adobe is charging big bucks for throwing beta versions at paying customers, just look at all the posts about PS issues after their last "upgrade" - the proof is in the pudding.

Lightroom and Photoshop | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan is the low monthly plan that includes Lightroom. I hope the link explains what you will be paying in UKP. Although the payments can be monthly, it is a year long contract obligation. Gene

I just found out what when wrong. Since CC 2015, smart objects in Photoshop are by default linked to a Cloud Library. I did not know that. The link to that library was somehow broken which prevents me from accessing the original ai file. Now I have to find out how to relink to my Cloud Library. You can read more here: creative cloud - How to change Photoshop CC 2015 Smart Object settings to auto-embed? - Graphic Design Stack Exchange

Thank you. By messing around with the various Preference/Interface settings I have found a way to get a picture to open in the centre of the workspace which generally keeps it fully visible. Thanks. David

Wow, thanks for all the research and testing you did davescm! It gives me a little peace of mind knowing that you came up with the same results as me. What a curious little problem. Excellent that you found a solution to the artifacting in tweaking the diffuse color, I'll remember that for the future. I ended up building a cube to solve the problem on this end as well.

Thank you, the problem seems to be strongly related to this one so I moved the issue over to the other thread. Best regards!

The numbers are always width then height. You could define a 5x4 preset for landscape. I checked in CS4, and it does not do as you describe.

Use layers and masks to build it up. In the example below : The bottom group of layers build up the frame (which was cut off in your image The next is your photo with a black and white adjustment layer (tinted) and masked to the oval - then a stroke layer style added to bring out the oval The top two just add a reflection and shadows (painted on) Have fun Dave

There is another option. Either first or after you select Edit In > Open As Layers select Edit In > PS version you are running. With that PS will open and then your images that you selected to open as layers will be loaded. Close the first image without saving.

CJWilkes makes a very good point. Creating a duplicate layer before doing any "destructive" pixel editing is a very good practice. The file size increases but with todays drives that is not normally an issue for your "master" copy. The temporary layer you see on the tutorials does not serve that purpose - it is closed when the crop is finished. Dave

It is working here. How are you selecting the multiple images in Camera Raw ? I can make this work by clicking Select All in the drop down menu at the top of the ACR filmstrip and also by Clicking the first image and shift clicking the last (or Ctrl click on individuals) Any adjustments I make from then on are then applied to all those selected. Also which Camera Raw ? - latest is 9.7 Dave

You can adjust the size in the dialogue when you make the frame. If you want to adjust after it is rendered then, before you use the filter, add an empty layer above your image, select the empty layer and use Filter Render - Picture Frame on that empty layer. You can then use all transformation tools that are available on other layers. Dave

I don't doubt it's doable with a top-spec machine and plenty of time, the question is if it's workable, or necessary. Just to get specific, consider what 100 ppi really means. It means each pixel is 1/4 mm in size, or to you in the non-metric world, 1/100 inch. Put a one-inch marker at the tip of your shoes, and divide it into one hundred segments. That's what we're talking about. JJ's question is a good one. Where will you get 200 000 pixels? The highest resolution commercially available in a sensor today, is the Phase One IQ3 100MP, which will set you back roughly $50 000 (yes, that's USD fifty thousand). Its files weigh in at 11608 x 8708 pixels. That's still a lot of photomerging.

Just to clarify, Image Maps are made with HTML code. An image map is a single image with multiple hot spot coordinates each linking to a different URL. For best results, use your web authoring software -- Dreamweaver or Muse -- to create HTML image maps. Nancy O.
