Are those colours actually in your document or just your display? Check with the eyedropper tool and the info panel.   If in your document and you are using 8 bits /channel for your document, convert to 16 bits/channel mode before using the smudge tool. You could also add a little noise which can be very effective at hiding such an issue.   If the issue is just in your display (i.e. it is not shown by the eyedropper and info panel) then short of using a 10 bit/channel display there is little you can do.   Dave   ... Interesting thread Kevin.  I have a Cintiq Companion 2 that I am unable to install Photoshop, and some other CC apps because I am unable to update its Windows 10 version.  So I knew that the latest versions of Photoshop need late versions of Windows 10, but I never did work out how to fix the OS update issue.  The Cintiq is useless as it is, but I rarely used it, which is how it got to where it is today.  Time for another look methinks. ... When I leave Photoshop and return to it, pressure sensitivity stops working. The only way I can get the pressure sensitivity working is to click somewhere with the mouse. The brushes panel preview shows the tapered stroke, but it doesn't work correctly when I draw on the canvas.   Now that I'm experimenting, trying to re-create the conditions that make pressure sensitivity stop working, it seems that I can move between applications with the Wacom pen and click in various places. When I return to Photoshop then, the sensitivity works with the pen and I don't need to click the mouse. However, when I use the Bluetooth Apple keyboard in another application, like e-mail, pressure sensitivity stops working in Photoshop and I need to click the mouse to get it to return.   Like I said before, this has been a chronic problem for me across multiple versions of Mac operating systems and multiple versions of Photoshop. Previously the sensitivity loss was less frequent (still associated with leaving and returning to Photoshop), but now it happens every time.   Thanks. ... View more

Alright thanks. I figured not since I couldn't see any options in the brushes panel. I guess for now I'll setup up a seperate file system in the Presets/backup folder and try for the best. As for the wipe, it often happens whenever an update happens. I only happen to mind it whenever I'm working on a project and need brushes immedately, only to see them suddenly gone.  ... View more
