There's one thing you can try, but there's no guarantee for success. If you have a invoice or another document that can proof that you have buy Lightroom 3 try to contact the Adobe support and described your problem and say that you can proof the buying of LR3. The problem isn't the installation file; all files were full versions. Only the serial number differs between full version or an update. Your serial number describes an update version an you need the serial number of the previous version or a installed pre-version on you computer. Axel

Which Adobe products you have actually installed and which you have had installed in the past? You can change the settings in Lightroom so the last opened catalog is open when LR is stated the next time. To find the LR 4 catalog file you can use the search function of the Windows Explorer. You can't repair the "old" user. You have to configure the new user with all the necessary settings and have to move all data (ex. documents, pictures) from the corrupted profile to the new one. Axel
