One of Photoshop's few shortcomings is editing type. Arcane controls, sometimes the cursor is hard to see (you can offer suggestions to cure this!). I just tried to create formatted text in Pages, then paste into a text box in Ps v26.4.1. Bold, Italic, and font size were lost. Do need to use a desktop publisher or does a working WP plug-in exist? (Pfaffenbichler : not trying to hijack, just tailing on for gins and griggles)

I can relate, pjn. Turn off auto-update, for one, so no surprises. Wait a few days before updating to see what others discover The webpage Jeff suggested is a good starting point, especially since you did not disclose what CPU/GPU you machine has or its age. For an example, Upgrading your GPU driver may require purchasing a new machine.

Aleke's advice is excellent. While looking at optimizing Ps performance, check the section on Photoshop Compositing, especially multithreaded compositing and GPU-accelererated compositing. Can you capture the screen post-crash?

One cannot send a file that is not a TIFF from LrC to Ps, then save as TIFF via Save>Save As or File>Save A Copy and expect it to appear in LrC -- unless TIFF has been sent from LrC to Ps, edited, then saved back to LrC via File>Save.

Since my post of 2/10, a 3rd (4th?) release of v26.3.0 can be downloaded from CC. As in my previous posts, the update description includes additional information not included in previous releases. What's new in Photoshop • This update introduces an enhanced Frame tool and provides additional bug fixes and performance updates. • Bug fixes and improvements for the Substance 3D Viewer (Beta) integration. Is Adobe not concerned that, as community experts have advised in responses to my question, folks will skip installing this release. "Minor" revision or not, shouldn't all updates be marked as new -- using an incremented version number -- and marked as new -- using an incremented version number -- and shouldn't all updates be installed to maintain integrity, eliminate future posts where folks insist that all updates have been installed? Not the best update documentation standard practice.

Usually when I use Select Color Range, a dialog box opens with a preview of the image, and eyedroppers to select, and add to selection. That is not happening. ... This was working normally yesterday, buI did upgrade Photoshop to the lastest version yesterday afternoon. I'm working in v26.3.0 on a Mac Studio M2 Max, OS 14.2.1 By @Allen Birnbach See my attachment for what the Select Color Range is supposed to look like. For the third time, Creative Cloud has offered an update for Ps 26.3. This time: What's new in Photoshop • This update introduces an enhanced Frame tool and provides additional bug fixes and performance updates. (as with the previous two times) • Bug fixes and improvements for the Substance 3D Viewer (Beta) integration. (this is different from the previous updates to v26.3) I'm just pointing out the sloppy versioning. It's circumstantial evidence that someone at Adobe is rushing out these updates without incrementing the version number. I've been advised as recently as this week to just blow off updating if the version number is the same as the previous release. But these version 26.3s are not the same; not mistakenly rereleased; and contain new functionality. In Allen's case, the third update to v26.3 broke at least one tool.

I have designed a full poster, however now I am told I am only allowed my font as Arial. I've tried copy and pasting from docs, etc to see if the font transfers over .. but it doesn't. Is there any possible way of making the font Arial without having to start all over again? By @amber_8798 Clarify who and why your font use is restricted. Is the customer/end user requiring to use Arial, and you can't find Arial in whichever app in which you created the poster? As davescm said, Arial comes with Mac. Open the Font Book app, look for Arial. It might not have been activated on your system, or has been deactivated. By the way, one cannot copy text with Arial attributes and expect the font to go with the text. The font needs to be installed on your system.

Just to state for the record and for the use of others, this is how you set up automatic Ps backup of work files: Settings>File Handling>Automatically Save Recovery (box checked?) every 5/10/15/30minutes/1hr Ps>Help>Photoshop Help, search for "file recovery troubleshooting." As of this writing, the third search result, file recovery troubleshooting (Help), will be a good read. excerpt(s) -- There are numerous potential causes for file damage: • Sudden power outage • Computer crashes while saving a file • Photoshop freezes or crashes while saving a file • Network connection issues • Hardware problems, including damaged cables, failing hard disks or RAM modules • Triggered OS update on your computer If your image appears corrupted on screen and the damage does not save to the exported file or print, the cause is likely your graphics card or driver. See Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues. highlights of the troubleshooting webpage -- Install graphics card (GPU) driver updates Troubleshoot graphics processor Restore preferences Troubleshoot plug-ins Troubleshoot fonts (and to stop future crashes) Photoshop is crashing "If you perform all the steps above and you still encounter a crash, be sure to submit all crash reports. Bob, you might try the steps in the AI-generated answer to my search on adobe.com:"moving photoshop preferences from windows to mac" [Adobe's warning: "Generative AI overviews are experimental. Quality may vary. Overviews are not your Content."] Moving Photoshop Preferences from Windows to Mac To move Photoshop preferences from Windows to Mac, you need to manually copy the preference files from your Windows installation and then place them in the appropriate location on your Mac. Here’s how to do it: Step 1: Locate Preference Files on Windows On your Windows machine, navigate to the following path: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [version]\Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings Copy the relevant preference files you want to transfer (e.g., Actions Palette.psp, Brushes.psp, etc.). Step 2: Transfer Files to Mac Use a USB drive or cloud storage to transfer the copied files to your Mac. Step 3: Locate Preference Folder on Mac On your Mac, navigate to the following path: /Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings (Note: The Library folder is hidden by default. You can access it by holding the Option key and selecting Go > Library in Finder.) Step 4: Paste Preference Files Paste the copied preference files into the Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings folder on your Mac. Step 5: Restart Photoshop Open Photoshop on your Mac to see the transferred preferences in action.

"Fixing in post" has always had pitfalls; many attempts to adjust exposure result in a disappointing, flat, gray look. Better to prevent while shooting. It seems like your camera metered on a dark area, resulting in blown-out highlights. No detail may exist. Spot-metering would allow you to meter on an area that is closer to middle of the histogram. The hair, perhaps. One fix in post might be to isolate areas -- the screen (?) above the player's head could be selectively darken or color changed. What I have done in past trials like this is to promote the subject to a new layer, copy the layer, Paint in sampled colors, then use blend modes or masks to hide the blown out parts, revealing the fixed parts. Hard to say without actually having the raw file to play with. Playing with a JPG screen shot is a fool's errand, I'm afraid. --editing to attach my try. I sampled the left ankle, then created a new layer with that color, then clipped to the layer below, then painted out the mask to reveal the player.
