massimo, I searched Adobe.com and the web for variations of "Freeze filter under stylize," sylize freeze filter," "Photoshop filter"-- found nothing. Wikipedia.org had a fairly comprehensive page on Photoshop versions and major tool inclusions. 'Freeze' was not on that webpage. I don't recall that particular filter; what did it do? All my almost-successful searches found the Freeze tool in Liquify.

Equally would it be easier trying to use something else for this task...if so what would you recommend? By @murray26873853t8li One suggestion: stock photo image, perhaps using puppet warp to pose realistically. Matching lighting can be tricky, but doable.

I've watched many Youtube videos by great instructors; they always seem to gloss over this issue, and seemingly skip a step. What I do in this situation (others will have a more elegant method) is use the Lasso tool, surround the ghosts loosely, command-delete (Mac), then use one of the fills under the Edit menu -- Content-Aware or Generative.

Creative Cloud shows that the following versions of Photoshop are available for download: Ps 2025, v26.3* new Frame tool Ps 2024, v25.12.1* general stability Ps 2021, v22.2 bug fixes, shape properties * these versions are in my Applications folder. This is not the first time that versions 26.3 and 25.12.1 have been updated. January 2025 was the first announcement for 26.3; no mention of an update to Creative Cloud Content Manager was included. The reason that I'm posting this is that in addition to new tools, stabilization, bug fixes, all three updates bring in an update to Creative Cloud Content Manager: • Creative Cloud Content Manager 6.2.0.13 - This update enables all Creative Cloud apps to receive new content. [current version of CC: Creative Cloud Content Manager (CCX Process) 6.1.0.9] Now, as in previous apparent releases of updates, Ps versions' numerical designations have not been incremented. If these updates brought in new functionality, the version numbers should have been incremented to alert us that new functions will be brought in: 26.3.x 25.12.x 22.2.x The last advice I received from this community when I brought up the duplicate was to uninstall CC, then reinstall. When CC did not display the apps in my plan, I was forced to reinstall all of them. So, should we just ignore the app's version number and go ahead and install anything that shows up in CC?

@birckcmi wrote: After working in Adobe Photoshop 2020 for years, I decided to switch to a newer model, and upgraded to 2025. I know now that plenty of study will be required to familiarize myself with PS 2025, but knowledge of the Old Ways has got me somewhere, at least. What I can't get past is the "Hand " tool. If I do something that the app considers "wrong", I am left with only that one tool showing up onscreen. Screenshot? Nothing else is usable, and even the Hand tool is useless, beyond moving the application frame around on the monitor. So the only recourse I have is to save the file, close Photoshop, and try to figure out what I did wrong that brought everything to a halt. Any ideas? If I do something that the app considers "wrong", Pause here -- what action is "wrong"? Nothing else is usable, and even the Hand tool is useless, beyond moving the application frame around on the monitor. The application frame (View>Application frame) cannot be moved around; it's on or off, hiding/revealing the underlying desktop or app. I have experienced the situation where the hand won't let go, moving the document around. Closing Ps is not necessary. So the only recourse I have is to save the file, close Photoshop, and try to figure out what I did wrong that brought everything to a halt. Any ideas? the esc key releases the hand for me, or selecting another tool. The stickiness is something I have done accidentally, unintentionally, something I can't reproduce at will.

The image inserted into your post, Redhartotter, is the Home screen that was introduced years/versions ago. Click the Ps icon in the upper-left corner (red-yellow-green horizontal traffic light), see if that screen is more familiar.

So, it IS rocket science, GB! 😉 This search -- adobe.com:converting psb to jpg resulted in only one webpage on the Adobe site -- to convert psD to JPG. So no help from the creators. This search -- converting psb to jpg found dozens of free and paid converters for PSB to JPG. I cannot recommend any of them, as I haven't used them. Buyer beware. I also did not check their limitations.

Milko, I think Adobe did more than upscale the image on the Photoshop Features web page. I'm thinking the sales department pumped the colors a bit. Same thing with the tennis court image. Could you post before and after images? {After-thought: when pixels are created or stretched, maybe the colors fade, requiring color enhancement?] Ad copy on the Features webpage: "Upscale images and create stunning results. Enhance, restore, and perfect your photos with AI, refining details and correcting colors for exceptional image quality." Upscale AND create stunning... Enhance...AI... and correcting colors"

Hang on a sec, Beth. JPEG, JPEG2000, and JPEG Stereo (whaaa?) are on the list of formats available when I use File>Save As -- as well as 13 other formats. Like Dave suggests, something's off with your RAW files. Which camera are they coming from, and are you opening the Raw files in another app before Photoshop?

Three last stabs and then I'll bow out. What are your settings for Graphics Processor's Advanced Settings? I have Use OpenGL, Anti-alias..., and GPU compositing checked. 30-bit Display is checked though grayed out. (our machines have nearly identical settings) Disk Utility>First Aid, then restart? How about installing a previous Ps version, like 26.1? Also, Sequoia 15.3 has just become available.

Monitor: run the Activity Monitor (Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor.app) I'm a crazy multitasker (aka short attention span) -- a dozen Firefox tabs, Apple Mail, Messages, WhatsApp2, CC, LrC, Ps, Preview, Pages -- sometimes all frequently open, Memory Pressure yellow, 1 GB of 8 free. CPU? 80-90% free.

Dave is right, Exedy. Adobe does lag on release notes. Question: how did you get v26.3? I just checked CC, and the last Ps listed is 26.2. My region's server hasn't been passed the new version, I guess. [answer: beta, dummy Larry] [but it's 26.4 as of my last peek]

Ooo, those are fun restorations, James. Many ways to flay the feline. A few abreviated ideas: (selecting the layer easily is tricky) Promote the faded area to a new layer, then Image>Adjustments>Match Color, adjust sliders Luminance and Color Intensity -or- Promote the faded area to a new layer, then eyeball to match, if your vision is up to it -or- Fake it - selected the faded area, invert the selection, feather the selection, lower Exposure One could also try the beta Photo Restoration Neural Filter; or Camera Raw masking of faded area, eyeballing manipulation. Let's hope a restoration magician has better ideas, James!

@LAMY2017 that works great. Thanks for the video demo! It doesn't allow me to turn off 'Resample' like the desktop unless I use the Presets for Print by the looks of it! "but, where is that on the web version of Photoshop, to change the resolution from 72 ppi to 300ppi?" This is my first time opening Photoshop for the Web. I've always used the desktop version. If I understand creative explorer's question, I think I have an answer. PsW does indeed have its own version of Image>Image Size, as my mov shows. At the end of the video, I use the Image Size tool to demonstrate that the file was really upped from 72 to 300. With 1,000 Firefox tabs and many apps open, my MacAir's 8GB RAM couldn't refresh the display of the file.
