Ooo, those are fun restorations, James. Many ways to flay the feline. A few abreviated ideas: (selecting the layer easily is tricky) Promote the faded area to a new layer, then Image>Adjustments>Match Color, adjust sliders Luminance and Color Intensity -or- Promote the faded area to a new layer, then eyeball to match, if your vision is up to it -or- Fake it - selected the faded area, invert the selection, feather the selection, lower Exposure One could also try the beta Photo Restoration Neural Filter; or Camera Raw masking of faded area, eyeballing manipulation. Let's hope a restoration magician has better ideas, James!

@LAMY2017 that works great. Thanks for the video demo! It doesn't allow me to turn off 'Resample' like the desktop unless I use the Presets for Print by the looks of it! By @creative explorer I tried all 13 choices in the "fit to" drop-down, if that's what you mean by "Presets for Print." Resample was always available. Screenshot, please?

I'm running 15.2, bertramm. I've always used ⌘ +/- to zoom in and out. Ps>View>Zoom In | ⌘ + Ps>View>Zoom Out | ⌘ - How does one go about using the control/option keys to zoom? Is there a preference in Settings? Tip: search Character Viewer for "place of interest." Who woulda guessed.

"but, where is that on the web version of Photoshop, to change the resolution from 72 ppi to 300ppi?" This is my first time opening Photoshop for the Web. I've always used the desktop version. If I understand creative explorer's question, I think I have an answer. PsW does indeed have its own version of Image>Image Size, as my mov shows. At the end of the video, I use the Image Size tool to demonstrate that the file was really upped from 72 to 300. With 1,000 Firefox tabs and many apps open, my MacAir's 8GB RAM couldn't refresh the display of the file.

Just to show what the Style choices are supposed (?) to be: Resetting Preferences may be overkill. Try Reset Tool, then Reset All Tools (still overkill), then Reset preferences. To answer an initial question, "legacy" is mentioned several times in Settings>Search and Ps>Help, but I did not find legacy Marquee.

I share your pain, Brian. You had 500 credits?! I had 250 until this shell game, now I have 100. Shame on Adobe. Or should I congratulate them for figuring how to get blood from a turnip? Only my last payment (sleight-of-hand unilateral change of contract on Adobe's part) shows when I look at my account. I have to contact Customer Support to find out how long I've been a customer (years and years). I am not a new subscriber but am being billed as one. I guess watching crack dealers give away free rock gave them the idea. Can you say Class Action Suit? I subscribe to an educational website that shall remain nameless. I was grandfathered in and have survived any and all increases, still pay the same yearly amount since at least 2017.

Dan, it's a beta tool, so I can imagine it's subject to reprogramming at Adobe's whim and schedule. Have you experimented with the sliders? In addition to Photo Enhancement, Enhance face, and Scratch reduction, four other sliders can be revealed by clicking on the '>' next to Adjustments: Noise reduction, Color noise reduction, Halftone artifacts reduction, and JPEG artifacts reduction. Note the 'satisfaction survey' near the bottom of the Photo Restoration panel; clicking on No opens a feedback dialog containing several checkboxes, a text field to flesh put your issue and [offer a] solution, plus the ability to optionally include a sample photo. Experienced subject matter experts should be able to help you submit a bug/improvement report to Adobe.

I opened the psd, and now I feel the need to amend my previous comments. I know the superusers here will enjoy shooting down my crazy idea, but I don't think it's CA at all, but contamination from light bounced off the grass. The f/2 aperture blurred it. I zoomed in to 500% and don't see any fringing in his hair, eyelashes, etc. If CA was present as a result of a lens or post-processing, it would be everywhere.

When you File>Save As, four other formats in addition to TIFF are the only choices, but not JPEG. However, if one clicks on the Save as copy... button just to the right of Format, two dozen formats are available, including three flavors of JPEG. File>Save a copy... offers the same two dozen choices. P.S. I see that creative explorer came to rhe same conclusion. GMTA!

wgullo, I'd have to process one of your NEFs to know for sure if the diffuse area was caused by CA. How many pixels are these crops? Also, the depth of field is shallow and exacerbates the shadow. Have you used the eyedropper in Camera Raw's defringe tool to try to reduce the green fringe?

Jeff is correct. No need for plug-ins (besides, f the author disappear or fail to upgrade/adapt the tool for a new computing environment, you're stuck). In addition to Jeff's Window>Properties, Ps 2025 has a second grouping of tools that becomes available when 1) the document contains more than one layer, and 2) the Move tool is activated.

Microsoft Translator may have made a mistake. Apple's Translate app says: "I don't have to download the new version, it's always waiting..." I think what Paolo is saying is that he's running v26.2 but it still shows in Creative Cloud. It is showing in CC. It wasn't in CC yesterday. Unfortunately, Adobe chose to not display details of the download file -- size, timestamp -- so this is either a repeat of a previous (duplicate) post of 26.2 or a new version that didn't get properly numbered, e.g., 26.2.x or 26.3. I logged out of CC, then logged back in. CC updated. When the app populated, the v26.2 update was still in the list -- for 1-2 seconds, then disappeared. Don't bother installing, just log out and log back in.

For sure, texture makes this job more difficult. The enormity of the task reduces my pride in my limited abilities. Look for tutorials on turning a photo into a oil painting; this will explore Ps' ability to emulate brush strokes and texture. Here is a tutorial I found via Ps>Help, searched for "paint color and texture," the second tutorial on the Discover interface. (I don't see a hyperlink to copy!)

Catherine, your best chance at getting advice is to post a photo. It's a tedious and sometimes tricky task, involving several ways to fix a photo -- cloning (copying a similar, undamaged area, then pasting the borrowed part over the damage), and using a few seemingly magic tools like Healing brush. Also, you can search for tutorials about photo editing on the web. I'll look for a few to get you initiated into the art of photo repair. A search of Adobe.com: Retouch and repair photos An auto-generated Adobe suggestion [Generative AI overviews are experimental. Quality may vary. Overviews are not your Content] -- Repairing Photos Using Photoshop To repair photos using Photoshop, you can utilize several tools designed for retouching and repairing images. Here’s a step-by-step guide: Open Your Image: Start by opening the image you want to repair in Photoshop. Use the Spot Healing Brush Tool: This tool is ideal for quickly removing blemishes and imperfections. Select the Spot Healing Brush tool from the toolbar, adjust the brush size, and click or drag over the areas you want to fix. For more precise control, you can use the Healing Brush tool, which allows you to sample pixels from another area of the image. Clone Stamp Tool: If you need to duplicate parts of the image or cover up larger areas, use the Clone Stamp tool. Set a sampling point by holding Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac) and clicking on the area you want to clone, then paint over the area you want to repair. Patch Tool: For larger areas, the Patch tool can be very effective. Select the area you want to repair, then drag it to a clean area of the image to sample from. Neural Filters: For advanced repairs, you can use Neural Filters. Go to Filter > Neural Filters and apply the Photo Restoration filter to enhance the clarity of your image. Save Your Work: Once you are satisfied with the repairs, save your image in your desired format (JPG, PNG, TIFF, etc.). These tools will help you effectively repair and enhance your photos in Photoshop. For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Photoshop Retouch and Repair Photos guide.
