I neglected to mention that fact! Ok, I think we missed part of the equation. Is the Rosetta checkbox not "sticky"? (I found that it is) Or is the Ps logo in the Dock starting from a different, non-Rosetta app? In my experimenting, I found that Ps takes up to 30 seconds to start on my M1 MacAir with the Rostetta box checked; 2 seconds without. Either way, to get the loop-through-Ps working, I'd look to replacing that plug-in.

Maybe you did like I did at first -- I right-clicked on the folder Adobe Photoshop 2025. One must open the Adobe Photoshop 2025 folder, then click on the Adobe Photoshop 2025.app. Here is a composite image displaying the two results side-by-side.

litefish, it would help others if you would say what version of Photoshop with which you had become comfortable. The dashes are called "marching ants" by accord; I can't think of any action on a user's part that could make them go away. I have experienced one of the selection tools [there are more than seven] unbeknownst-to-me selecting much more than I intended. One place to start: Photoshop>Photoshop Help The Orientation section has 5 tutorials on getting to know the app; layers; selections!; masks; adjustment layers.

reproducing my entry, since an error occurred during Preview and Post I don't know how to convert bullets, but I can tell you one way to use any character including checkmarks instead of bullets. Open the Character Viewer (my Mac is set up to use the bottom-left fn key; press the key once) Click on Bullets & Stars in the left panel In the center area, scroll down to the 4th row from the bottom Click once on the style of checkmark desired (Check Mark -or- Heavy Check Mark) In the right pane of the Character Viewer, scroll through the font styles of checkmarks (34 styles for Check Mark, 4 for Heavy Check Mark) Click once on each checkmark to display the font name (Add To Favorites if desired) With your cursor at the front of a line of text, double-click to insert the checkmark. Issues: Only bullets and numbering inserted using the Paragraph tool will cause a paragraph to wrap. Characters inserted via Mac's Character Viewer (1) will not wrap paragraphs; (2) they must be manually copied/pasted at the beginning of the first line in each paragraph

Problems with the beige color wall Tolerance and Contiguous boxes [when using Magic WAND not hand] -- try Tolerance set to 20; make sure the Contiguous box is checked. You'll notice that the ceiling from the wall to the ceiling fixture base will also be selected. No bueno. The wall is not plumb|vertical. Straighten the wall, then use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to selected the beige wall. Once that problem is handled, you can insert a second image on a new layer and align it. You can skip those steps and just Transform>Skew or Distort the file containing the tapesty.

jacky, could you stretch out your first sentence? Additional detail will help thick-skulled people like me. "in the past" -- what version of MacOS and Ps are you running? You sent an image [LrC>Photo>Edit in>Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2025, or command-E?] Is Ps already open? Or do you expect as you should that the send-to-Ps action will open the image in Ps? It's at this point that command-B doesn't give you access to the Brush tool? And this is when you hear an audible warning? I don't get the Brush tool pressing the command-B. I get the Eydropper tool (I) with a Color Balance dialog. Okay -- B is the shortcut to the Brush tool, not command-B. Here is a QuickTime screen recording of searching Ps Help for any and all (7) brush tools. In QT, view in full-screen mode to eliminate seeing two tool bars (the app you're in, probably a browser; and the movie). I swirl the cursor to show the seven brush tools, then demonstrate Summarizing all keyboard shortcuts into an html document. I didn't find a way to summarize only brush tools.

I know you meant 2025. Which version -- 15.0/15.1/15.2? [oops, add 11] I searched the Known issues in Photoshop webpage, saw nothing about "mini" freezing and various combinations of search terms. So you accidentally discovered holding Shift allows the app to start? Ingenious. I think uninstalling/reinstalling might have been too radical. What else is running when you try to start Ps? Can we assume your M4 Pro has enough RAM, VRAM, meets minimum requirements?

command-R is cRop because command-C is Copy. I've never pursued remapping keys or shortcuts for fear of breaking something that's not broken. The shortcut in Camera Raw 17.1 in ACR and Ps>Filter>Camera Raw filter is the 'M' key. Pressing the shortcut key saves little work on the user's behalf, since you still have to move the cursor over to the right panel to select the one mode of five that is available. I have to admit I read your original post too quickly. Going back to see what I missed -- Subj: which "select" tool? Subject, Sky, Marquee, Magic Wand? Have you recorded/created an Action recently? I can't think of a reason for FF or any browser to open after right-clicking on. layer. "same problem if I make a selection on the canvas, not on the document" Are you saying the layer you're trying to work on is smaller than the canvas (whick is the bottom-most layer, not really a canvas)? In my understanding, the document is the entire file, one or more layers, including the "canvas." When I right-click (command-left click on my trackpad) on a blank layer, I get the warnning "no pixels were selected." Are you clicking on the thumbnail in the layers panel or the actual document.

There's your problem right there, Jay -- Photoshop 2925 won't be released for 900 years! I'm a bit shocked that one can't get to the Reflections checkbox through Ps>Filter>Camera Raw Filter, even though the window that opens reads Camera Raw 17.1 just like it does when opening a NEF through Bridge! Removing window reflections in Adobe Camera Raw How should you use this feature? For now, our technology works only on raw photos (DNGs, CR2s, ARWs, ProRAWs, etc.) To try it on your own images, open the Camera Raw plug-in and go to the Technology Previews section of the Preferences Panel. Then enable the New AI Settings and Features Panel and restart the host application (Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Bridge).

"Is there a way to remove the snowman while creating that layer of covered area so that I could edit it again later in the project if I wanted to add the snowman back?" Christine, I removed the snowman two ways: the non-detructive way that retains the snowman using layers (I didn't like my hasty job, so...) and one layer, destructively. Haste Makes Waste. On this last attempt, my process was made a blank layer above the background layer (your pic) selected the Remove tool, Mode = Generative AI On; Sample all layers checked; Remove after each stroke unchecked. made a sloppy, overly-large selection of the snowman, then committed (✓) The final file has two layers: Layer 1, the Background layer, with snowman hidden Layer 2 with a small blob of scene created by AI that when the visibility is toggled reveals the snowman. I can record the entire process if needed.
