Make custom shortcuts to avoid the whole problem.
Honestly, the menus are full of commands that do the wrong thing if you click the one next to it. Save/Close, just to take a random example. It really isn't realistic to move all that around because you might make a mistake. It's much more important to have similar commands grouped so that it's logical and you know where to find things.

Larry, thank you for your response! When trying to research why Photoshop wouldn't open, I saw some suggestions that I should remove the settings from the "Library" folder - in theory when I restarted PS, it would make new settings. If that makes any sense. Anyway, it didn't work. After trying several other things, I finally just redownloaded PS from the Adobe site, and now it works, so I feel dumb that I did not try that right away. Anyway, once again, thank you for your help, your suggest to Uninstall and Install again was just the right thing.

Hello. I would have directed the user to the same "Filter Gallery > Stylize > Glowing Edges" - except that in Photoshop 2025, the "Glowing Edges" is not visible (to me). Is anyone aware of how to get it back? I know it's possible that Adobe simply got rid of it. I used to use that Filter a lot! 😞

No solution, but may shake out the problem. I searched Ps 2025 Help for generator, selected the entry 'Error 'There is a problem with Generator' occurs when launching Photoshop.' Quoting section, "Review logs for errors Photoshop keeps a log of Generator activities in a folder named "Adobe Photoshop [Version]" (that is, "Adobe Photoshop 2024") [2025?? Adobe didn't update this section to refer to current version] in the following location: • Windows: C: \Users \username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Logs\Generator • macOS: /Users/[Your User Name]/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobel Photoshop| 2024/Generator/ [2025?] The logs might provide helpful information about which plug-ins are being loaded and which is causing an error. Should you require more help, use the Log Collector Tool to gather the logs." Create and send log files for Creative Cloud

If you want previews updated, consider John Ellis' 'AnySource' plug-in. This is where I found out about it.... https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/p-allow-adaptive-profiles-color-mono-to-be-applied-on-import-in-lrc/idc-p/15175242#M23808

Try F, F, the Tab to turn on the side panels. Press F again to return the Ps interface to "normal."

Sign me up! My reading matter for the week ahead will be your "extensive list". I will indeed let you know how I get on.

Many times the macOS Cursor (Pointer) preference is the culprit.
Go to Apple>System Settings>Accessibility>Display>Pointer and make sure the Pointer size is set to Normal

One of Photoshop's few shortcomings is editing type. Arcane controls, sometimes the cursor is hard to see (you can offer suggestions to cure this!). I just tried to create formatted text in Pages, then paste into a text box in Ps v26.4.1. Bold, Italic, and font size were lost. Do need to use a desktop publisher or does a working WP plug-in exist? (Pfaffenbichler : not trying to hijack, just tailing on for gins and griggles)

I can relate, pjn. Turn off auto-update, for one, so no surprises. Wait a few days before updating to see what others discover The webpage Jeff suggested is a good starting point, especially since you did not disclose what CPU/GPU you machine has or its age. For an example, Upgrading your GPU driver may require purchasing a new machine.

Yes, that was my point. It's physical RAM plus the system pagefile, so it can exceed installed RAM.
The scratch disk is not included.
But normally, system paging slows down everything and should be avoided.
We have seen this excessive paging on Mac and Windows in equal measure. As I said, a lot of people have fixed it with a clean install and clean preferences. So I'm inclined to think it is a bona fide Photoshop issue, but one that only occurs with a somehow faulty installation. My money is on corrupt preferences.

When you are sending data to Adobe servers (for Firefly-processing) that is data on Adobe servers, so guess what? Adobe has to try to make sure they are not involved in illegal activities and therefore needs to check.
That the check is extremely »sensitive« is another issue and hopefully it will be addressed sometime, but who knows?
Did you not figure out a work-around (cover up the person/s in the image with a Solid Color Layer temporarily for example before expanding)?

Just for future reference, another way to change that setting is to go into Photoshop Preferences, and in the Tools settings, enable Zoom Resizes Windows.
It’s the same setting because if you change that or Resize Windows to Fit in the Zoom tool options bar, it changes in both places.

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, the first step is to try this:
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Application to uninstall Photoshop. When asked, keep preferences! After this reinstall Photoshop again.
If this doesn't help the nest step is to reinstall both apps Lightroom and Photoshop. Please folloe the steps below:
1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client and uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. When asked, keep preferences!
2. Install Photoshop first and then Lightroom Classic. The right order is very important here!
If this doesn't help try the reinstallation with removing the preferences also.

I had a thread reporting the same issue. I consider this to be a fairly big accessibility bug that needs to be fixed. I just now made a Bug Report, hoping to get more traction. Dropbox somehow managed to be more transparent when that message pops up, stating that they use the local network access specifically to sync to other local computers, because that is faster than syncing to the cloud. Why can't Adobe tell us what they need the access for? Why so secret Adobe? I mean if you are going to act all cagey when Apple let's you craft that message, I have to assume you are doing bad things behind the scenes. so DENY to you until you can figure out how to be transparent.

Since my post of 2/10, a 3rd (4th?) release of v26.3.0 can be downloaded from CC. As in my previous posts, the update description includes additional information not included in previous releases. What's new in Photoshop • This update introduces an enhanced Frame tool and provides additional bug fixes and performance updates. • Bug fixes and improvements for the Substance 3D Viewer (Beta) integration. Is Adobe not concerned that, as community experts have advised in responses to my question, folks will skip installing this release. "Minor" revision or not, shouldn't all updates be marked as new -- using an incremented version number -- and marked as new -- using an incremented version number -- and shouldn't all updates be installed to maintain integrity, eliminate future posts where folks insist that all updates have been installed? Not the best update documentation standard practice.
