This is an interesting dilemma.  One thought comes to mind, do you have adequate space where you are saving?  The interrupt would indicate something has prompted it to stop what it was doing, whether "the user" or more likely "the user's computer". There are numerous videos on this, here is one that gets to the gist.  It says face tracker but basically you'd mask that light arm in same fashion. https://youtu.be/pHosTbOAxg Once you track it, that will allow you to place a background beneath the light that matches your white.  I'd just chop a piece of that white part out, give it a good feather on left side and where it meets desk. Parent the inserted background to the tracked mask for the light arm.  That should about do it. Keep in mind, there are numerous ways to do this. To be more specific, create a small solid down in lower left where the line is.  Use the mask square tool option and mask a tiny sliver the size of that line. I'd zoom way in, then select the appropriate sides and adjust to get it thin as you like. Then, on your timeline, at the position you'd like it to enter, create a key frame.  Stay in your current position on timeline and drag that keyframe off to the right about 4 frames or so. (This just saves you time by moving the completion frame first). Then, select your top two points on the mask and drag them down to the bottom, use cursor up down for precision.  You will see a new keyframe now and then when you move forward toward the other keyframe, your mask will go up, revealing the line. Adjust the second keyframe to suit your timing needs. Give it a 1 pixel feather if you like or leave it crisp. Note, holding "Shift" while dragging the mask points will keep it straight, as will using just the down arrow key.  With it so small, I'd probably just use the arrow key. Eric ... View more

It looks like the guy kind of shows it in his video, though not too clearly. There are many different options but the most used is generally a clean plate with a locked off shot for a few seconds, then step in to frame and cut where you want the person in or out. Green screen provides other options as well as some roto work for the disappear part over the top of the plate. I see some other responses and it's pretty clear there is some homework to do on the instruction side. There are tons of intro to AE tutorials.  However, let me just offer a couple points to focus on to send you on your way and let you study up. What you want to do is animate pictures around, zoom, move, wiggle, whatever.  These are very basic things to do in the grand scheme of AE.  Look for tutorials on key framing and moving objects.  It only takes a basic understanding to get started. In short, you'll place your background (the Canada map).  You add layers for your images in varying lengths depending on when you want them coming in. Then as an example, on frame 1, you will key frame a position (possibly size, rotation, etc), then move forward 5 frames and drag the picture to a different location.  It will automatically add a second key frame and when played, that picture will move from its position on frame one to the new position on frame 5. That's the simple part of it.  You'll want to learn then how to rotate, how to resize, how to use the easy ease capability, etc.  These are within the same area as simple key framing your movement.
