I was also going to mention TC Form as well. That is a great tool for making objects dissolve in to many particles and even achieve a flame like (stylized) effect. I'd also suggest reviewing some of Andrew Kramer's tutorials on how to make things dissolve to dust.  He has a great example using a hand grenade as well as a woman disappearing to dust.  The grenade one dissolves with a fire like effect.  Pretty sure he does that using just AE too. I don't think I've ever heard of this problem.  So, are you saying it will access (display in font bar) a portion of them only? And then restarting displays them all? I came back to add a bit to my comment.  In my mind, AE would not selectively choose to load up a subset of fonts. I presume they'd all have to be in the same windows/font folder (or MAC equivalent).  Seems this would be some "read" type of thing, some difficulty in seeing them all. Can you post a screenshot of your comp that you are trying to preview in RAM?  The whole screen but with it open so we can see.  I see you have 8GB RAM and as others said in earlier the amount of RAM will most certainly affect how long the preview is. I've only had a couple instances where the project got so corrupted, I lost it all but your symptoms are pointing that way. I've had comps for render that never show in Media Encoder too.  It doesn't appear in any way to do with the size, at least in my experience.  Sometimes, it just doesn't show. Ok, so this is not at all about how it depicts it on the left (frames versus time). Here's what I'd try.   When you make the comp in AE, ensure in the comp settings that it is already set to the correct frame rate.  If you had an earlier comp at 96, when you make a new comp, it defaults to what you had last (same with comp size). And second, in case you didn't know, instead of "sending to AE", try selecting the sequence in Premiere, COPY (CNTL/C) and PASTE (CNTL/V) in the comp in AE.  That's what I always do. Eric ... I'm with Dave and probably any other person on the planet for that matter. It doesn't matter how small the project for me, it's gets its own location.  Period. You would lose things left and right if you did not.  So, to your question, you don't really want to change the default location.  You simply want to always organize every project in its own folder. Now - for organization, perhaps on the drive where you keep this, maybe you have something like a folder that says 2017 Projects, 2018, etc and within those, have separate folders.  Or maybe you want folders with Movies, Commercials, Weddings, etc....and then folders within by project.  Whatever works for ya but by all means, advice point number 1 is always have them in their own project. Just another point, not to ramble but I do things for a particular brand quite a bit and since I do, I have a folder I call "Reusable Assets" because I know exactly where to find them throughout my separate projects.  It would be comparable to having a sound effects folder that you draw from, etc. Eric ... I think Mylenium has probably hit this but what you are describing seems to have little to do with the background at all.  If I'm understanding you correctly, all you are really asking is how to remove the moving person from the background?  The background being still offers no advantage as the person is moving against it. Well, glad part of it is sorted out but I agree with Roei - you have something going on there. Was this a template of some sort or did you start from just a normal click of the text icon and go? It's almost like you have some effect applied or a reflection or sometimes, there are fonts that are just plain weird.  The free fonts sometimes come with glitches.
