@Sergey Osokin Actually it is not working on my side with Monterey 12.7.1. ... and I don't know why. I checked it with app.path and set a path in the script, to create and store a prefs-file at the location of the script and it worked. So it does not deal with permissions. But $.fileName of the script, will only throw an empty field and a slash fot the path or wrong type ...? Any idea on that issue? Best

I wrote about that in the Illustrator bugs forum for years without any answer! It still happens with Mac Pro and always the root cause ist Photoshop. Illustrator and Indesign open at once > no problem. Opening an additional document in Photoshop causes flickering cursor in all other programs instantly! That's so odd and no help for years ...

@chad_rolfs Dear Chad, nice to hear but actually, as there are limited options to brushes and selection tools I focused on Clip Paint as it does not deal with these issues and uses better technology for painting. Sorry.

I talked to a developer of an OSX Finder extension, called Default folder X, who was abel to reproduce and confirm the bug. Can't export with Photoshop 22 anymore... It's impossible to save files.

Your're right. Adobe and Support is just frustrating!
So thanx for mentioning what helped out for you.
But as a consequence of the lag, for painting I changed to Clip Paint Pro, now. Htey have an incredible community which helps you within hours on every issue!
It has incredible fill options and colorization helpers for brushes. So just for painting it's a huge improvement compared to Photoshop. It can mess with all other functions, but for painting, and colorisation in special, I will never come back...

By the ay: turning off smoothing did not change anything in my brushes. Maybe one should not use the most simple standard brush as an example...

Adobe's getting lazy and software updates are more and more buggy and unusable. Working only with Version 2020 as 2021 has bad latency and drawing issues... Illustrator is similar... so bad...

@chad_rolfs What exactly did you think you fixed? No change in the brush lag. The "export as" is not fixed at all, too. It takes ages to open folders and go back and forth in folder hierarchy.
Brush and folder navigation work perfectly in Photoshop 21, still (with every update).
But one cannot work with Photoshop 22 as the brush lag has no fix at all and there is something working in the background, what makes it impossible to navigate folders on external volumes, like a NAS, while trying to export an image...

Such a mess. One cannot draw in Photoshop 21?! the brush just draws straight lines instead of following a fast gesture. 21 like a charm 22 broken....
I made a new video but it's the same as it started in this chat.... and 21 and 22 are identical installations!

With the last Update to Photoshop 21.1.1 and the newest Wacom driver, the problem has been fixed. There is a new Option in Wacom settings, now, where you could turn off a newly integrated Tip-Up assistant, which will stop the annoying jumping 85% of all events. Sometimes it keeps jumping, but one can deal with it, now.

I also updated Photoshop today and now it is working. I do not know weather it is the Wacom Update or Photoshop Update.

Device Driver 6.3..39-1 (but is not related to this driver, earlier versions show same behavior)
Lack is in all brush sizes, but the bigger the stroke, the longer the delay
Opacity seems to have no influence as it is already the same behavior with 100%
DPI does not influence it very much, example is already with small, common Print 300dpi resolution on a Din A5 size
Just normal paint mode
Just one layer in document (The video is just a ne Din A5 document, opened and drawing...)

PS20 / PS21 Brush lag comparison with identical system and program settings! It is unusable. Finder latency, brush lag. What a crap! Any idea... It does not deal with brush smoothing (deactivated), it does not deal with GPU (iMac Pro with 120 GB memory and Vega Graphiccard) and it does not deal with cache, as both documents are opened just right before.
Test with identical brush strokes, color, transparency and speed. Such a mess...

That's really so sad! Photoshop gets crap, really. I have this issue, too and no response from Adobe! And Even lacking with Finder and external volumes, but: Only wiht Photoshop! All other programs work smoothly and Photoshop sucks. The jumping is absolutely not acceptable... Adobe staff is really such a disappointment.
