Na, doesn't work. Someone made a youtube where (according to him) he found a work-around. first you click on the layer you want to start with and group it then you highlight all the other layers and move them into the grouped layer where you can manipulate them that way. Just another simple thing Adobe forgot to include in that version I guess. Thanks for the reply though.

Win 7, CS6. Say I have art work in a layer that is mixed; like dots and dashes, the dots are many more than dashes. I want to select all the dots at once and leave the dashes unselected. What keystroke combination lets me do that so I don't have to select each one individually. I understand that you can select objects on the same layer and objects with the same styles etc. but I just want to be able to do that in the layers panel. Thanks for any help

You know Nancy, I've never seen that one before now. Amazing resemblance. Thanks for showing me that. I used a program call Deep Paint 3D v2.0 by Right Hemisphere. The company is defunct now; sold out in the acquisition days or yore. I was pondering what next and I thought I'd dust it off and fire it up. Gives some really nice oil paint effects and much more. I'm kind of hoping that all this banner posting would lead others to do the same, I invite you to join in again. All these little do-dad banners are 30 or 40 minute creations, certainly you can spare that much time. Adobe and the moderators don't seem perturbed by it.

Using the rounded rectangle tool, as you draw and without letting up on your mouse use the up and down arrows for a interactive control. Once you get the desired chamfer shape let up on the mouse and your rectange pop-up will appear. There you can adjust your angle and size and create another more precise rectange or just cancel and keep the one you created.

Jongware; nice script. works in CS6. Only short coming to me is it locks-up Illustrator when I try and enter a negative integer like ie: min% 0.1. As long as they're whole numbers no problem. Unusual you just giving it away when I'm sure you could have made some money on it. In what seems like a time when you can't even find free clipart hardly it's refreshing to see the old school spirit of the web still alive. Nice job.

This forum is a great idea. It's helped many; myself included. There has to be more, much more participation for it to flourish. Moderating is fine and rightly so; to be able to place the questions where they stand the most chance of being answered properly. But after awhile, even questions that have no business being bounced inevitably get caught in the net or worst the poster is belittled publicly for not reading the rules and their post disappears to heaven knows where. There left to wonder and perhaps angered. No one wants to feel that way. It may dissuade one from considering posting ever again out of embarrassment if nothing else. My suggestion is simply. A few smallish software Icons strewn across the top near the banner with a "for ? about Illustrator post here" likewise for Photoshop and so on. Can't hurt, and would be one more re-director. But even with that, I suppose folks will still post and be bounced and moderators will still be needed. Thanks 4 reading.

First of all let me state that I'm not a programmer at all. But my brother was and we'd talk about programming whenever I had a specific question about something that puzzled me about why or how a program did this or that. He'd patiently answer me in as simple an explanation that he figured I'd understand. He once passed me a copy of VB6 as I'd shown interest in that direction but told me to stick to art and graphics as that was my strong point. True to his word, Visual Basic was a little over-whelming for me. I don't care how many "Programming for Dummies" or "Learn Programming in 24 hrs" books you read you have to have collaboration with others that are at your level or above to get a firm foundation on coding. JavaScript is just another programming language that lightens the code and/or extends the functionality of a program IMO. So to the many of us who are just end users It really doesn't matter what the programmers are doing in the kitchen as long as what they serve us works. Whether they're using C++ or .net or active x or java or a combination of all mentioned makes little diffence to me at least. Now if you want to talk about ICONS or Animation or maybe even Graphics; that's meat on the table pal.
