We apologize for the issue you are facing with the preview of the images in Lightroom Classic.
Would you mind sharing the version of Lightroom Classic you are currently using by going to the Help menu > System info? Also, do you see the issue in a particular module or both the Develop and Library module?
You can try to disable the use of the Graphics processor from Lightroom Classic by going to Preferences > Performance, then quit and relaunch Lightroom Classic to the check if that helps.

Hi there,
We are sorry to hear about your macbook pro getting stolen.
You can re-import the preset you had on the old computer by downloading them to the new computer. As you mentioned that the '+' icon for presets is grayed out, could you confirm if you have imported any images to the new catalog you have created on the new computer yet? If not, then please import a few images (preferably RAW) and then try to import the presets and check if all the presets are working.

We apologize for the issue you are facing while trying to open the images in Photoshop as layers. Just to confirm, you are trying to open the images from Lightroom into Photoshop, right?
Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop and Lightroom that you are currently using?

Hi there,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your Mac crashing while using Lightroom.
If the computer is completely this may be due to multiple reasons. Also, do you get any specifc error message when the computer comes back up or just a crash report to send to Apple?
You may try the below mentioned steps to check if that helps with the performance and crashing of the application.
1. Go to the Preferences for Lightroom Classic > Performance and
Uncheck the option to Use Graphic Processor (Select Off from the drop down).
Increase the Maximum Size under the Camera Raw Cache Settings from 5GB to 15 or 20GB.
Check the option to Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for image editing
Uncheck the option to Generate Previews in parallel
2. Go to the General tab under Preferences and check the option to Replace Embedded previews with standard previews during idle time.
Then quit and relaunch Lightroom Classic and test the application for a while to check if that helps.

If you have an NVIDIA or AMD Graphics Processor, I would recommend installing the latest drivers for the GPU from the manufacturers website to check if that helps with the performance of Lightroom Classic with the GPU ON.

Since the iPhone 11 Pro Max has just been released, certain aspects of the images clicked with the phone are currently not fully supported. Our developers are working on including full support of the images from the phone and may include it in a future update.

Hi Zaneta,
You can create presets using the Lightroom mobile on your phone. Please ensure that the application is up to date by going to the App store for your device and checking if there is any update available for Lightroom.
To create a preset, open the image and edit it.
then click on the 3 dot icon on the top right and select the option to Create Preset.
Once you tap the Create Preset option you should get the below mentioned screen on which you can include the attributes you want in the preset, give the preset a name and include it in a preset group.
In case you are not getting the above mentioned option, please let us know which mobile device you are using and which mobile operating system you are using on it.

Okay. In that case the issue may be due to the macOS Catalina beta that you are currently running. Since the OS has not been made public, our applications are not optimized for the macOS yet hence there may be certain issues that you face on it while running the applications.

You should be able to add Photoshop CS5 to Lightroom as an additional external editor by going to the Preferences for Lightroom > External Editing and then navigate to the location for Photoshop CS5.

I see you are currently using macOS 10.15 (macOS Catalina) which is currently in beta, right? Also, Photoshop the latest version of Photoshop is 20.0.6, so I would request you to update Photoshop to the latest version through the Creative cloud to check if that helps.

Hi Darren,
If you plan to use the internal hard drive as an alternate drive for the computer then you can have the applications installed on the internal drive as well however, it is recommended to have the application installed on the same drive as the OS for better stability of the application. Plus with the SSD being faster than the internal hard drive, may give you better performance.
Also, if you plan to remove the OS completely from the internal drive, you would need to re-install the application anyway.

That is the latest version. Could you try resetting the preferences of Lightroom again using the steps mentioned in the link below and then restart the computer to check if that helps?

Hi Matt,
Since the iPhone 11 Pro has been recently released the support for the RAW images clicked using the phone has not been included in the application and would be included in a future update post which you should be able to select the relevant profiles for the images you click with the new iPhone similar to the iPhone X.

Just to confirm, I believe you are referring to the bit depth of the image that you are working with, right?
If so, you can check and change the bit depth by going to the Image menu in Photoshop > select Mode and change the bit depth. The option that you with a check mark would be the option which is currently selected for the image.
