Thank you guys so much! I restarted my computer but that didn't work, so I uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it. This was before I had read the replies. That worked for me, though. I'm not exactly sure why it did that in the first place, but I'm going to look into the GPU thing that was suggested. Thanks again!

Is possible to have the file re-saved using the version that it was created with? If yes, then please save the option for Maximum Compatibility checked.

Look at the Document tab on top. RGB/8 for example. 8 is the "bit depth".
You change that under Image menu > Mode.

Correct. The XMP file is what contains the edits performed on the RAW file. If the XMP is deleted, the edits are lost. In the DNG you save through Camera Raw, the sliders would appear with the adjustment levels.

Hi Brian,
We apologize for the performance issues you are facing with Photoshop on your iMac.
Since you are running macOS 10.14.6, please go to the System preferences for your Mac and then navigate to Security and Privacy > select the Privacy tab > Select Accessibility from the panel on the left and check if Photoshop CC 2019 is added to the list. If not then please add Photoshop C 2019 to the list using the + sign at the bottom of the panel and ensure that the box prior to it is checked.
You may also try the steps mentioned in the article below.

Hi there,
We apologize for the issue you are facing while working with videos in Lightroom Classic.
Would you mind sharing a few more details related to the video and the version of Lightroom you are using?
Please go to the Help menu and select System info and share the version of Lightroom Classic.
Are you using a Mac or Windows? (The operating system version would also be helpful)
What is the format of the video and which device (source) was is recorded with?
Are you importing the video from your computers local storage or an external source like an SD card or an external hard drive?
Regards

Canvas size is only 1200x800px. It shouldn't be that hard for photoshop to render surely. Thanks for your reply.

At first I was getting a prompt saying the catalog could not be found but then I located it and no prompt the launching of lightroom will just freeze at “reading preferences” and stay like that. I did try to delete the lock file but that didn’t change anything. the .wal will blink while trying to open it also. I have tried resetting the preferences with no luck. I just sent the catalog to Adobe to see if they can fix the corruption. Thanks

Hi There,
We apologize about the issue you are facing with Lightroom classic in the develop module.
This may be happening due to either an incompatible Graphic card or the Graphic drivers installed on the computer.
You can go to the Preferences for Lightroom through the Edit menu. Go to the Performance Tab and uncheck the option to Use Graphic Processor. If Lightroom is up to date to the latest version then select OFF from the drop down and select OK. Then quit and relaunch Lightroom Classic to check if the images appear properly in the develop module.
If it works with the Graphic Processor disabled. You can check the troubleshooting steps as per the below mentioned article.
https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html
Note: Though the acticle is for Photoshop but the steps should help with Lightroom as well.
Let us know if that helps.

A 15-inch screen with 3840 x 2160 resolution is just marketing fluff. Looks impressive on paper, but has no practical relevance. It's well beyond what a person with perfect vision can resolve in real life. 4K screens start to make sense from 24 inch and upwards. Most applications, when detecting a high density/4K screen, will scale everything accordingly so that it looks the same size on screen as on a standard HD screen. But Photoshop is a special case here. It scales the UI, so no problem there - but the image will be a quarter size from what you're used to. This is because Photoshop at 100% renders one image pixel to one screen pixel. This is a holy principle in critical pixel-based raster editing. However, most consumer-oriented photo viewers and web browsers don't need to display that accurately, so they scale the image up as well. The result is size inconsistencies that confuse a lot of people.

Hi there,
The Lightroom engineering team is able to create the tethering support for cameras based on the SDK for the camera provided by the camera manufacturer. Sony currently does not provide a camera SDK to allow Lightroom to control the Sony camera.
Please check with Sony if they provide a tether plug-in for Lightroom.

Glad we got it working. I would recommend you check the manufacturers website to for drivers updates for your Graphic card since this may be happening due to old or incompatible drivers.
