I'm creating computer graphics animations and am experimenting with outputting the image sequences in EXR format (OpenEXR Multilayer). Unfortunately, neither Premiere nor Photoshop can properly read these EXR images (they display as black frames). I found an addon for Photoshop called Exr-IO which allows Photoshop to read these files, but I can't find anything similar for Premiere. QUESTION: How can I import and edit an EXR image sequence in Premiere Pro? I found a post here from 4 years ago (https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/importing-the-32-bit-exr-sequence-into-adobe-premiere/td-p/10102308) that addresses the issue and provides a link to an addon, but that link is dead. I've searched around to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks. Premiere Pro 22.1.2, Windows 11

I'm creating textures for 3D graphics materials and Photoshop's Quick Export to PNG is a welcome time saver. Unfortunately, I just discovered that when working with 16-bit PSD source files, Quick Export converts the resulting exported PNG to 8-bit; this can be a problem for displacement maps so I want the PNG to be 16bit. Meanwhile, if I don't use Quick Export and flatten the source PSD and then save it as PNG, the resulting PNG is 16-bit. There's a checkbox in Preferences > Quick Export Format titled "Smaller file (8-bit)", but that's not checked. Any suggestions as to how I can get Quick Export to output 16-bit PNGs? Thanks. I contacted Adobe support via chat and let them drive, unfortunately they couldn't find a solution. The floating document windows will only automatically resize when I zoom via Ctrl + or -, but not with the mouse. They suggested I install an earlier version of Photoshop to see whether that might fix it, but I told him that was too much work. I did reset my preferences again to see if the preferences file had become corrupted, but that didn't fix the issue either.

Thank you again, Jeff. I have my Windows Display settings at 150%. I don't want to go any larger lest it start crowding my desktop. I've gotten spoiled by apps that offer much greater interface customization (Blender, Reaper, etc.). While I still love Photoshop, it's UI scalability appears to be severly limited, if not broken.

Thank you for the suggestion, Jeff Arola. Unfortunately, Zoom Resizes Windows is already enabled. I tried toggling it this time, repeatedly restarted Photoshop, but it refuses to take.

Alas, my eyes are not what they used to be and now that I've switched to a 4k monitor my Photoshop UI and UI fonts are painfully small. Is there some way I can make these features larger? Per the attached example, I've set everything to as large as I can get it via Edit > Preferences > Interface, but the only feature that seems to respond to these settings in any significant way is the File > File info window. I had a similar issue with Adobe Premiere Pro, however it has a Console window that provides access to hidden functions (Ctrl+F12) where I am able to tweak interface font sizes; does Photoshop have this feature? Thanks. Windows 10, Adobe Photoshop 23.0.2

I recently reset my Photoshop settings and now my floating document windows no longer resize with with an image, i.e., previously when I zoomed in or out of an open image the document window containing the image would resize accordingly. I can't find the setting for this. Any suggestions? Thanks. Windows 10, Adobe Photoshop 23.0.2

Thank you for the responses everyone! The only long-term solution I've found is a workaround (these legacy PSDs are templates I occasionally use): Copy the contents of the legacy PSD (which includes layers) and paste them into a new PSD and save that. The new PSD can now be flattened and saved as PNG. Other things I've tried: - Re-saving the legacy PSDs (no joy) - Resetting preferences (no joy) - Exporting to PNG (which works, and could be useful if I can bind a hotkey to it) Thanks again.

I've noticed a strange problem with some legacy (3 years old) PSD where after flattening the file I an unable to save it as PNG. Most other formats are available, but not PNG. I've confirmed that the file is RGB/8 bit. The only difference I can see is that the legacy file window title has the suffix (RGB/8) while newer PSD files have the suffix (RGB/8#). The workaround is to save the flattened PSD as PSD, and then reopen it where upon it saves a PNG fine. Anybody know what's going on? Thanks. Photoshop 23.0.1, Windows 10

I have project where I have dozens of text layers and I want to globally change the font size for all of them. According to tutorials, I should: 1) Select a text layer 2) Select the text editing tool 3) In the top menu bar, choose Select > Similar Unfortunately, contrary to the tutorials, "Similar" is grayed out. Is there another way I can globally change text properties for all the text layers in a project? Thanks. Adobe Photoshop 22.5.1 Windows 10 Home v2004 OS build 19043.1288 v21H1

Thank you for the suggestion, Ann Bens. Yes, if I drag the Duration value in the Marker dialog it creates spanning marker. That's what I need. 🙂 I also discovered that if I change the Marker type to Chapter it allows me to create the span using Alt+Click, but not when it's a Comment Marker.

I'm trying to expand a timeline marker by Alt+Clicking on it and dragging it to the right, but it's not working. I've watched several Premiere Pro tutorial videos demonstrating this action, but when I hold down the Alt key my mouse cursor turns into a little hand and does not allow me to span the marker. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm shopping for a new Windows 10 PC and I'm looking for hardware recommendations. I'll probably build the system myself. I want to optimize it for 4k video production using Premiere Pro and After Effects. I’m thinking of a good quality CPU, GPU and 128GB of system ram. Open to suggestions. Thanks. I think I've figured it out. The problem track was the bottom-most visible track, i.e., it was overlaying black. Make a track below that visible and the Blend Overlay Opacity settings work. Meanwhile, I found that applying a Cross-Dissolve to the start of the problem track (instead of adjusting Opacity) achieves the effect I want.

I'm layering several video tracks, and for one of the upper tracks I have set the Effects Blend Mode to Overlay. I want to fade this track up from zero opacity to 100% over a period of severals seconds. To this end I'm using keyframes on the Opacity setting. The problem is that while the fade-up works fine when the track's Blend Mode is Normal, when I change it to Overlay, or to any other non-Normal Blend Mode, the Opacity setting appears to have no effect, i.e., the Opacity appears to be 100%. Is this by design? Or am I missing a step? Thanks. Windows 10 Home v2004 OS build 19043.1165 v21H1

Thank you for the response, Kevin. I finally found the reset button in the Effect Controls (a curved counter-clockwise arrow). I also was able to remove the Bezier curve by deleting the downstream position and scale keyframes and then reapplying them. I think trouble started when I intitially added the keyframes before the rotation was finished? Anyway, all's good now. Thanks again.

Somehow the anchor point in my project has acquried what looks to be a Bezier curve (blue path) with the result that the anchor point moves a bit over time when I attempt to rotate a static image beneath it, making the rotation look a bit whompy. How do I make this curve go away and stop the anchor point from moving? The weird thing is that there are no keyframes associated with the anchor point, yet it moves when the video is played. I've looked all around and I can't find any explanation or solution for this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thank you for the reply, Ann Bens. I'm doing test renders of computer graphics animations so I'm looking closely at the videos for rendering artifacts, so if there is a stutter or something then I want to be sure it's the render and not the video player. I was playing my video from an internal sata hardrive (Seagate BarraCuda 8TB Internal Hard Drive HDD - 3.5 Inch Sata 6 Gb/s 5400 RPM 256MB Cache). Per your feedback, I dropped the 2.7GB MOV file onto my external USB SSD (SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1) and from there it runs smoother. Hmmm. Maybe that's the issue? The VLC media trouble shooting FAQs were focused on drivers and hardware, but Windows Media Player and PotPlayer play the videos more smoothly than VLC.

This may be slightly OT, and I'll apologize in advance for what may just be an extended rant, but I'm a video editor newbie and for some reason I'm finding it difficult to find a Windows 10 video player that meets my needs, and I'm hoping one of you experts can help. 🙂 I want is a player that: - Plays smoothly--no video or audio choppyness; - Can be configured to immediately play full-screen without any pop-ups or visible playback controls; - Can be configured to immediately replay the video once completed (rather that playing the next video in the folder); The freebies I've tried: - Windows 10 built-in video player: playback controls are visible during the first 5 seconds or so during playback, and pop-up again if you bump your mouse (I hate that!); - VLC media player: no matter how I configure it, the video is choppy; - PotPlayer: nice smooth video, but not configurable to the degree I would like. Any recommendations, freebies and otherwise? Thanks! Thanks for the tip, MyerPj. I've still got a lot to learn about PP's workspace, and PP in general. That said, my project definitely became corrupt somewhere along the way. Luckily, it won't be too difficult for me to reconstruct from an earlier backup. I'm looking forward to when I can tell normal from abnormal behavior.
