Almost there.... You say - and when running script from menu hold Shift for Smart Object, Control for non-alligning I replaced the script & it seems to be running ok, with the files loading as layers. Then, if I hold the Shift key while launching the script, it collapses the layers into a Smart Object. So far, so good. I need a little further clarity - Question 1: If I want it to either align or not align the layers, you say to hold or not hold the Control key? I tried holding it & it gave a non-aligned result that looks very different to leaving that box un-checked in the Ps script dialog Question 2: What do you do if you want both Smart Object And non-aligned Thanks for all this help. Not sure what you mean by - You may edit in TextEdit, but you must write file down in same encoding that is now. Can I not Cut and Paste - will it be incorrect? (see attached) It is a locked file and will only let me change it in a duplicate file. Do I save the duplicate and then rename it to the same as the original and replace it? If I dont get a dialog how do I control whether 1. if it will create a smart object or not from the layers 2. if it will try and align the layers or not (as per the script in Ps) I will attach the edited duplicate file for you to see if it's correct

Thank you for this. Ps 2022>Presets>Scripts> Load files into stacks.jsx There is also a sub-folder Stack Scripts Only. Do I ignore and leave this alone ? App to open the file - is TexEdit ok? Do I just Cut the portion from this. to { and Paste the portion you wrote from this. to 'cancel' In your step 5 - Tools>s>Load files... What exactly would I see different from what is currently there? Would it be the same dialog as when you go to Ps>Scripts>Load files into stack?

I forgot to say that I am on a Mac, in case that makes a difference. If the Russel Brown script doesnt work on Ps 23 and Bridge 12 then I guess creating an Action is my best bet ? I dont know what or how to use Bridge Talk as previously suggested If so, are these all the necessary action steps from Bridge - 1. Tools>Ps>Load files into layers (I will have highlighted the selected thumbnails) 2. Select all layers (Select>All Layers) 3. Layers> Smart Objects> Convert to Smart Object 4. Layer>Smart Objects>Stack Mode>

I used the Load Files into layers but the Ps script has the additional Smart Object checkbox (& also an option to attempt to align the layers). The load files into layers does just that - a bunch of layers.

Br 12 Ps 23 I have been running the Ps script 'Load files into stack' with the option checked to create a Smart Object. Then going to Ps>Layers>SmartObject>StackMode & selecting the blend mode I have to navigate from Ps to find the files in Br (sometimes they arent in their own folder>. Ideally, I'd like to select the thumbnails in Bridge and run the Ps script. CIs there a simple solution (I can't code) ?

There has been No response from Adobe. I emailed them as soon as you posted the address. Not being sure about the hyphen in front of -support, I sent two emails, one with & one without the hyphen. Anyone else know how to quit being a stock contributor and retrieving my images, without it affecting my subscription plan ?

I understand. I just would've thought that by selecting B&W it would automatically zero any settings that would introduce col on top of B&W. Thanks for your help sorting this out.

I think I've found the source of my difficulty. In the Col Grading panel, the 3 color wheels each have a centre button to move the saturation, I right-clicked on each of the 3 and selected to Reset All Ranges. That reset the buttons to the centre & appears to have provided equal RGB numbers. I guess it's the equivalent of Desaturating.

When I originally searched the question, this page came up, the author suggested it to be the route to achieve Grayscale neutrality in ACR. https://www.peachpit.com I couldn't find the option as per my original post . Could you convert to grayscale neutrality (exactly the same RGB values) in earlier vesions? Is there a different way to do it now, before going to Ps?

Camera Raw 14.0.1.952 Clicking on the gear icon to access the Workflow options where I want to use and create a preset that applies true neutral black & white vs the default Monochrome option which is still an RGB image with irregular RGB values. When I select Color Space, the dropdown menu of profile choices doesn't list Grayscale or Gamma 2.2 which will cut out all color. Is there a way to add a profile or a better way to get a Grayscale?

I browse images in Bridge and i could select 2 images and use the action to open the two and layer/stack them. Then change their blend modes to try out a few (screen, lighten, darken etc) & opacities and perhaps have those options available as layers which can turn on/off in order to choose one (& delete the rest). I thought there may an action available. I'll try and create one.

Can anyone recommend a simple action to create double exposure effects in Ps. Something that will allow quick looks at different blend modes and opacities etc. Not necessary to make/have masks but rather an old-time film camera double exposure layering one image on another. I know it can be done manually, but an action may speed up the process and allow a variety of results to choose from. If there isn't one then perhaps a really good tutorial from which I could create an action ?

I am running Big Sur and the latest PS, Br & Lr classic. I am having shutdown problems which can of course be caused by many different things but one of them is hanging on 32 bit apps. I went to the apple menu>about this mac>system report>applications and see that there are a few obscure adobe 32 bit apps that I'd like instruction on how to remove please.
