@tomc94919815 can you give me some more details about these problems? What version of Premiere Pro are you running? We do support closed captions, and we do support overwriting an existing file while exporting. These are solvable problems. I'm sorry you are frustrated. We're here to help.

Hi, I'm having the same problem and I'm asking if you've been resolved. I extracted it from Media Encoder to H.264 using After Effects, and applying all the methods posted on the Internet did not solve the error that the video would not play. If you have solved this problem, I would appreciate it if you could let me know the solution.

The Digital Vision(aka-filmworkz) team (Phoenix developers) announced Transform A.I. , and also has DVOs tools for solving basic problems with archival materials. It seems they license some of the technology.

@R Neil Haugen hi. I've already pointed this out and informed the Adobe color developer. Now, it is impossible to influence a certain color area of the image for fine-tuning, because the Color tools in Premiere do not behave correctly. Separate wheels are needed to affect ONLY the LIGHT ONES, ONLY THE MEDIUM ONES AND ONLY THE DARK ONES. Ideally, still make OFFSET. Now working with color in Pr. terrible. It is wrong and cropped. When developers stop paying attention to various new buttons for removing the selection and text strokes, and will deal with the real problems that everyone is waiting for. When will we see a full-fledged professional color tool in Premiere?

I would love to ditch the built-in presets too ... as Jarle suggests also in his most excellent tome on Premiere workflows, "The Cool Stuff in Premiere Pro".
And I did for one version. But of course, they're back with the next update, and after a couple updates I just gave up. Would be so nice to have the ability to say NO to those Lumetri presets ...

Hi. I can confirm it's not a beta version. I can also supply the video used but it's just a bog standard h264 1080p render, nothing fancy, encoded in Media Encoder. If it also helps, performance seemed to deteriorate the further into the project I got (even reboots didn't help but performance monitor suggests my system wasn't even breaking a sweat). It looks like when it's lagging, maybe it's doing some thinking of trying to make sense of the changes I just made. I don't know, it's just a guess. Ironically if I create captions from the transcript, they are way faster to edit but that wasn't what I needed for this job. Plus I'm not sure how you would make bulk changes to styles once you've created captions. So that wasn't an option. On another note, even without the last, having to keep double clicking on the transcript for every little change also ate into the time. Every time I resume playback (which was every few seconds) I'd have to reselect the transcript. It would be much better if it stayed open in a live, editable way without impairing playback (or vice-versa). And one final thing, the spell-checker doesn't seem to operate in a terribly efficient way. It'll highlight what it thinks are misspellings, but doesn't give any option to correct (e.g. by right mouse button to see options). Well, that's not entirely true, I think I saw it once but oddly I could never get it to reappear in the transcribe panel. Very odd. Maybe I'm misremembering but what I do remember it just didn't work.

Hello, C++ Premiere Pro plug-in developers! You've likely already read that we're removing capture functionality from Premiere Pro, in version 24.0, which is expected to ship in October 2023. As part of this change, the Record module and Device Control plug-ins will no longer be supported. All other plug-in types, including Control Surface plug-ins, and Transmit, are unaffected by this change. It has already been removed in Premiere Pro (Beta). We’ll keep all users posted on further general information on Adobe HelpX page: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/retiring-tape-based-workflows.html

There is a bug identified for the lags in Premiere 23: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/known-issue-timeline-performance-in-premiere-pro-23-1/td-p/13549698 Workaround is re-opening the timeline. I hope we get a fix soon. You are not alone 😉

I even had to close the whole program using CTRL ALT DELETE when unfortunaltely the undocked text container was in front of the IMPORT EDIT EXPORT buttons. There was no way out.

I don´t have the answer as to when, but i have Apple ProRes LT as the default when i create a new sequence in 23.2 on Windows.

Clear media cache
Premiere Pro stores temporary files in the media cache to improve performance. Selecting this option will clear all files from the media cache.
By @Francis-Crossman
Will this option also clear the Media Cache Database?
If yes, great!
If no, please add that option as well to the dialog.
A corrupt Media Cache Database is often the main reason behind glitches in exported media and should thus be included as an option in the new dialog.
This new feature is a great one that will simplify trouble shooting a lot!

This is a total pain, I agree. It really means that very fine masking is impossible. If we made masking work more like After Effects, would that be a good solution? Double-click on a mask to bring up a bounding box to scale and rotate.

Would you prefer the preset setting to be retained per sequence or across the whole project? Per project (although this could be a preference users set in the Preferences window (per sequences vs per project) AFTER all of the dozens of more pressing issues in Pr are resolved, since setting it that way would obviously take much more programming resources that would be best allocated elsewhere at the moment) Would you prefer the export mode to work differently than the quick export? No need to be different. Consistency is best. I always access my presets through Quick Export, so it would be nice to have the same functionality available there. Would you prefer the location to be saved globally or per sequence? Globally. Once again, as per my answer to question #1, this could be a user preference (globally vs per sequence) once all of the more pressing issues are solved.

Stabilization used to be single threaded and the workaround was to analyze multiple clips at once so it would use multiple threads. It looks like this is no longer working on 23.0.0 on my system..

I mean, cool, but I've never had to rotate a mask even after it was closed. Today I'm having to go frame by frame to adjust a mask because the subject I'm masking is moving too much for mask tracking. Why not make the Rotate tool conditional with another button being pressed, like CTRL (PC) or CMD (Mac)?
