Hi @salix5ED3,
That sounds unusual, and I can understand how this could be concerning. Let’s try to narrow down what might be causing this behavior. Could you share a few more details?
1. Where are your files stored—locally on your Mac, a network drive, a server, or an external drive?
2. Are you using any third-party plugins with Illustrator?
3. Do you have any antivirus software, backup applications, or Time Machine running in the background?
4. As a test, could you try working in Safe Mode and see if Illustrator still creates duplicate or recovery files in the Trash?
These details will help us troubleshoot further. Looking forward to your response!

Hello @Cryogenixx,
I appreciate you bringing this up. I’m unable to reproduce the issue on my end, but I’m checking with the team. In the meantime, could you confirm the following details?
The version of Illustrator you’re using.
Your operating system version.
Whether you’re connected to a home or office network.
If any third-party firewall or antivirus software is running—try disabling it temporarily to see if that helps.
Share your Illustrator preferences folder with us. For the location, check this HelpX: [https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html]
Try resetting Illustrator’s preferences and see if the issue persists.
Let me know what you find, and we’ll continue troubleshooting from there!

Hi @Lorelynn219941164iiw,
Thanks for updating Illustrator and testing the file again. Since the issue persists, could you try creating a new document in Illustrator 29.2.1 and recreating the same text box to see if the problem still occurs?
Additionally, if you have another older document where the text appears correctly in previous versions but changes in Illustrator 2025 or later, could you share that file? The one you shared earlier appears to work fine on my end, so another example might help pinpoint the issue.
Looking forward to your response!

Hi @spaiglass,
This issue seems to be specific to this file, given that the text appears in Preview but not in Illustrator or Acrobat. Would you mind uploading both the .AI and .PDF files to WeTransfer, Google Drive, or a similar file-sharing platform and sharing the link here? That would help in investigating further.
Looking forward to your response!

Hi @mariaf37113046 @Freddeus,
Thank you for sharing the detailed observations. It seems like the behavior you’re describing aligns with a known issue that some users have reported regarding accents in Greek uppercase letters. Could you please check the following UserVoice link to confirm if this is the same issue?
Accents disappear for capital Greek letters
If it matches your issue, please add your feedback there or upvote the report to bring more attention to the matter. Meanwhile, I will also check with the product team to understand this behavior.
Let me know if you have any additional details or questions!

Hi @MR.HAZEM_RAJAB8715,
The issue with the alignment list not appearing could be related to an incorrect installation or corrupted preferences. To resolve this, please try the following steps:
Steps to Fix:
1. Uninstall Illustrator: Ensure that preferences/settings are removed during uninstallation.
2. Reinstall Illustrator: Ensure you do not keep old preferences or settings when reinstalling.
3. Check Creative Cloud Desktop App Settings:
• Go to Preferences > Apps > Default Install Language.
• Confirm that the language is set to Arabic or Hebrew to enable support for Middle Eastern features. (https://adobe.ly/3WwYsAE)
Once these steps are completed, the alignment list should appear as expected. Let me know if you encounter any further issues!

Hi @Daverwob,
Let’s try to get to the bottom of this.
From your description, it sounds like the issue could be related to specific shape properties or tool behavior. However, without seeing the entire process, it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause.
• Could you please share a screen recording of the issue from scratch demonstrating the issue?
• Ensure that the entire workflow is visible, including how the measurements are applied and when they detach.
• If possible, avoid using a GIF format, as it may not show sufficient detail. A video or higher-quality recording would help.
•Share a sample file where the issue occurs. This will help us test it directly.
Once we have this information, I’ll check with the product team for any workaround solutions or suggestions to address the behavior.
Looking forward to your response!

Thank you for the detailed explanation and for sharing your observations—it’s incredibly helpful!
I’ve shared your feedback with the product team and am currently awaiting their response. In the meantime, could you confirm if this issue is happening with this specific file or if it occurs with others as well?
Additionally, would it be possible for you to check if reverting to version 29.1 or 28.7.4 works as expected? It might help us narrow it down to whether this is related to the current version.
If you could also share a sample file and a screenshot of all the printer settings you’re using, it would help us investigate further.
Looking forward to your updates!

Hello everyone, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’ve tested this behavior and can confirm that the issue also occurs with high-resolution PSD files. While PSD files do get linked, they appear without a preview, unlike PSB or TIFF formats.
I also noticed that embedding the PSD, PSB & Tiff files works as a workaround, but it significantly increases the AI file size, which might not be ideal in many cases.
I’ve logged a bug for this and asked the respected teams if this is a limitation and what supported resolutions are acceptable in Illustrator. I’ll update you as soon as I have more information.

Hi @khalibauri,
I am able to replicate this behavior on my end with the Eyedropper tool, even after denying screen recording permissions. After checking with the product team, they’ve confirmed that Illustrator uses Apple’s screenshot API to pick colors. This allows it to capture a 1px pixel’s color within the app window itself or outside if permission is granted. Even if screen recording permissions are denied, Illustrator can still pick colors from within its window.
With the recent changes introduced by Apple in macOS Sequoia, new privacy and security notifications now appear when an app accesses screen content. This is why you see the “Adobe Illustrator 2025 is capturing your screen” message— this is an expected behavior. macOS notifies users whenever an app is accessing screen content, even if it’s just for picking the color of a single pixel. So, even though you’ve denied permission for Illustrator to pick a pixel color outside the app, it can still capture colors within the Illustrator window, and this notification will appear. There’s nothing to be concerned about.
Let me know if you need further clarification!
Best,
Anshul

Hi @karloverhere,
Thank you for bringing this up and for your patience as we work through it. It seems like you’ve encountered an issue that has affected several users in the past, and we truly appreciate your continued feedback. The team identifies and fixes many issues every year, so your case could be unique, and we’d love to dive deeper into it.
Ton Frederiks, one of our Community Experts, also shared a helpful UserVoice link about this issue. If you haven’t yet, it’d be great if you could upvote it here: [UserVoice link]—the more voices, the better!
To help us investigate further, could you please share the following:
1. A sample Illustrator file that demonstrates the issue.
2. A screenshot of the export settings you’re using.
3. The exported JPG file that shows the pixelation or corruption.
If possible, please zip all of these files and attach them here so we can forward them to the product team for a more thorough review. With this information, we can work towards a solution tailored to your specific case.
Thank you for your help in resolving this—your input is invaluable to improving everyone's experience.

Hi @Dean Rank
It sounds like you’ve made an important discovery! The issue seems to be related to macOS Sequoia’s permissions for third-party apps to access storage, which caused Illustrator to crash when the save dialogue was triggered. Once you approved Illustrator’s access to storage, the crashes stopped.
You’re right in identifying that navigating to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders and granting access to Adobe apps can prevent these issues. This allows the app to interact properly with external storage and should resolve the Finder crashes you’ve been encountering.
Thank you for sharing your findings! It could be helpful for others facing similar issues with macOS Sequoia. If anything else comes up or you need further assistance, feel free to reach out! Best,
Anshul Saini

Hi @schroef, I understand that AIRobin can be a bit overwhelming, especially with its impact on system resources. In the earlier years, Illustrator’s model wasn’t enabled for multi-thread access, so we were limited in what could be handled in the background. To overcome this, we created AIRobin, which helps by moving some tasks out of Illustrator, allowing for smoother performance while the app is running.
AIRobin operates as a full Illustrator process running in the background, enabling other functions and plugins to automate tasks on your machine. These processes are in place to help Illustrator work more efficiently, but I understand how frustrating it can be when it uses a lot of RAM. The goal is to improve Illustrator’s performance by offloading some tasks, but it requires a certain amount of resources.
I hope this clarifies! Best,
Anshul Saini

Hello @Shlomit Heymann,
I understand your concerns and appreciate the time you’ve taken to highlight this issue. I’m sorry for any confusion earlier, and I want to provide some clarification.
In the Middle Eastern version of Illustrator, the default paragraph style automatically uses the Middle Eastern composer (this is not a new change made in the recent version of Illustrator). By design:
• The Indents & Spacing section picks up the direction based on the text tool used and the composer itself.
• Therefore, the Paragraph Direction option does not appear explicitly under Paragraph Styles > Indents & Spacing.
If you’d like to set a Left-to-Right Paragraph Direction, here’s a workaround:
1. Avoid using the Right-to-Left Type Tool for that text.
2. Use the regular Type Tool and switch the composer to Adobe Single-line Composer or Adobe Every-line Composer in the Paragraph panel.
3. Create a new Paragraph Style. In this case, the Left-to-Right Paragraph Direction will apply and appear under General but not under Indents & Spacing—this is expected behavior.
I hope this clarifies things and helps you work effectively. If there’s anything else you’d like addressed, feel free to share!
Best,
Anshul Saini

Hello @Daniele22907566hhb2,
Thank you for checking. Since the issue persists, it would be helpful if you could share a screen recording of what exactly happens when you try to print.
Additionally, could you confirm the following:
1. Did you roll back to version v29.2 or v29.1, then update to v29.2.1 to check this?
2. Were you already using version 29.2.1 before encountering this issue?
3. Did you reinstall the app or restart your system to see if the issue was resolved?
It would also help if you could share these details:
1. The version of Windows (e.g., Windows 10 build 1909).
2. The file format you are trying to print (e.g., .PNG, .JPG, .AI, .PDF, etc.).
3. The printer make and model (e.g., HP LaserJet 1000, Canon PIXMA).
4. An MSInfo file capturing your system information: Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and click OK. Then, go to File > Export and save the file.
Also, could you confirm if the printer is connected locally, via a network, or via Wi-Fi? Does the issue occur with all files or specific ones?
These details and the screen recording will help us escalate the issue to the product team for further investigation.
Looking forward to your response!

Hello @Monika Gause,
The backend fix specifically addresses the reported print issue. Those who rolled back to version 29.1 or v29.2 to resolve the issue can now install version 29.2.1 again to take advantage of the fix. However, users who are already on version 29.2.1 don’t need to reinstall it; relaunching the app or restarting the system will do it.

Hello @alice_8309,
I understand how challenging it can be when printing functionality is disrupted. As @Monika Gause pointed out, this issue has been reported by several users after updating to Illustrator 29.2.1. The product team has identified that this issue is reproducible on Windows 10 systems and is working diligently to resolve it.
For now, reverting to version 29.1 or 29.2 is the best temporary solution to regain printing functionality.
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we work on a fix.
