Hey Sam, on a 2025 macbook pro (Sequoia 15.3.1) and getting an error message every time I open photoshop due to having enabled the generator plugin in PS settings : "There was a problem with Generator. If the problem persists, please see: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/error---there-is-a-problem-with-generator--occurs-when-launching.html"   Running the most up to date versio of PS. No amount of unchecking/rechecking, restarting either CC or my computer, giving PS full disk access (and again restarting) seems to be able to sort it. I've gone through the suggestions in the above post highlighted in the error message but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? 3/4/25 using 26.3.0 and I just started having this problem about a month into working on one document. I have the preferences set to fill with placeholder text. Nothing works. I've got a lot of text layers. My document is 2.33 GB. I shouldn't be having memory issues though. I've got 48 gb of ram, 12 gb of Vram, and 2 tb of storage space. I've got my memory usage set to let photoshop use 70%. I haven't had a single issue until today, and I've been working on this one document for over a month. If I double click the icon for a text layer in the layers panel, the text in the document becomes active. If I start changing the text or typing, photoshop reverts to myriad pro. If I select the text tool first, then reselect the proper font and THEN start typing, it shows the correct font. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? ... View more

Try Opt clicking the text layer's eye icone to turn all other layers off to see if it is something like a clipping issue. Double click the layer to highlight the text so you can at least see what space it is taking. You could reset just the Type tool before you reset Preferences.  It only takes a moment, and if it works you have saved the annoyance or having set everything up again.   My gut is that it is ether an interaction with another layer, or broken like Cory has suggested, and will need that Preference reset. ... It's an annoying bug, without question. I have been a designer longer than some of you have been alive, that being said, the downgrade to 2024 is a great solution. I work on a Mac and find that if I leave a project open for prolonged periods of time, it triggers this bug. I save often and will restart photoshop when it shows up.
