Thank you for letting us know you are able to open the PDF now in Ps beta.  It sounds like maybe your preferences are messed up. Please correct this. I am facing the exact same problem, and it is impeding on my workflow. Seems like basic commen sense to allow somehwere in the settings or even right on the top bar to allow one to choose their default option. It worked seemlessly before having generative fill as the default option to allow me to make crop adjustments rapidly. now i haver to either catch it and manualy change it everytime, or if i forget i have to manually go and highlight the selected background areas and use generative fill on them. ... I'm sorry to say, what you just added is bunk. There is no way to control the tab stops. Do you even talk with the other teams (InDesign and Illustartor)? You added paragraph styles, but no tab stops. Type in PS has been a bear for WAY too long. I would highly suggest you stop with the AI [cursing removed], which is nothing more than clip art, and focus on the stuff pro users need.... bullets for web page comps has been needed for decades. Cory is the expert on this, as he helped writing the program, but I am going to be cheeky and say what I do when I see thge Update message, as I can remember clicking the button inside Photoshop, and 'apparently' having nothing happen.   I close Photoshop. Open the Creative Cloud Descktop App Click on Apps. And I'll see Photoshop Beta at the top of the page, and an invite to update it. If you have an AMD graphics card with their AMD Adrenaline software installed, that could be the issue.   I had the same problem and discovered that AMD Adrenaline hijacks the CTRL+SHIFT+I hotkey combo where it's set to "take screenshot". Setting that hotkey to something else, or simply deleting it, fixes the issue in photoshop.   ... View more

Dang, I should have posted screenshots right away …    I use a light Color Theme but the Generative Workspace uses a dark background.  As I work mainly for print the dark Color Themes have always been wrong for me, so I would prefer to avoid dark backgrounds in Photoshop interfaces altogether.
